The Greatest Command;
Matt 22:34-40
Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together.
35One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question:
36“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart
and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
. 39And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
Easier said than done because
human nature is pesky and persistent, but
with God all things are possible!
No matter what we hold
may we remember we are given,
not to indulge ourselves,
but to share...
even toasty marshmallows💗😊
To love God first and neighbour next
Takes care of all the rest
Then we will live, far less perplexed
As we give God our best
If Self is where we ought to be
Life will be a success
Because we hold the joyous key
To finding holiness
‘To love God first and neighbour next’
Though struggles may increase
Transforms a heart, troubled and vexed
With hope, purpose and peace
