Tears and Hugs

Been showered with 'tears and hugs' through messages both for us and for Dave, Karen and family...thank-you!
(every 'like' heart and sad face on FB like a cyber-hug)

When words are bent and broken
Soft-tumbled into prayer
Then tears and hugs are all we have
To show how much we care

Lord, thank-you for words broken
For humble, stumbled prayer
And thank-you for love’s tears and hugs
To show how much we care

When Mommies Die...

Prayer is a universal hug! Hug Kara and Her family as they do life's hardest Hard!

When mommies die
It rends earth’s sky
With why and hurt
And sorrow’s tear
For oh, we know
No other who
Can take the place
Of mommy-dear

Life’s first love
After God, is she
Who cradles children
In her arms
And there her babies
Oft will flee
To still the tears
Of fear’s alarm

When mommies die
The world cries ‘why?’
Still, our words
Cannot explain
The heart of God
But this we know
His grace is greater
Than our pain

There are no answers
Only this;
That God is good
And He will keep
Close to his heart
With nail-scarred hands
The tally of
Those tears we weep

Also thinking of the family in our community(friends of one of my brother's and one of my sister's families) who said good-bye to 'mommy' just before Christmas...

Remember to Hug Your Family...

We hold them close
Those we cherish most
And love them, oh so much
In thoughts and prayers
We hold so near
The ones we cannot touch

In gratitude
We thank the Lord
For precious families
We never know
When one must go
Leaving but memories

Let's Admit It...

Poetics Aside Prompt: Let's...(fill in blank)

Let's admit it
We need each other
Life's load is too heavy
To shoulder alone
Let's encourage
And love one another
For two together
Are better than one

Goodnight, My Love (A Lullaby)

Let the wind sweep from the rain-laden pine
Let the night weep from the bush and the vine
Let the blue shadow fall somewhere afar
Over the meadow beneath the lone star
Before this day vanishes let me hold you tight
And whisper goodnight, my love, and goodnight

Let the lone dreamer then dream if he must
Let the dim twilight then sleep in the dust
Turn down the music and turn up the sky
It seems to sing to me a new lullaby
As your arms wrap around me in the deepening light
You whisper goodnight, my love, and goodnight

Some put their faith in the moon or the earth
Some wait for fortune to measure their worth
But now as I lay me down to sleep
I smile for I know the good Lord will keep
All those I love in His tender sight
As I whisper goodnight my love, and goodnight

Janet~

Tonight was one of those nights…..
As I hugged my children and said goodnight
I felt like the richest person on the face of the earth…..
There are no sweeter words repeated than
‘Goodnight, I love you too.’

Thank-you God~

The Hug

You drew a line
I crossed it
You gave me a dime
I lost it
You told me to remember
I forgot it
You gave me a hug
I’ve still got it

Janet~
No matter how frustrating it can be,
Don't forget to hug them.....
