Laughter and Blessing-Kissed

Poetic Blooming Prompt; a week in haiku

Monday:
Weighted words waiting
To-do list lacks curb appeal
So I go outside

Tuesday:
People provide more
Fodder for growing chore-list
I am blessing-kissed

Wednesday:
Backdrop green, blue, gold
I am not too old to dance
June; month of romance

Thursday:
Where does the time go?
To-do lists sighs on fridge
Child governs hours

Friday:
Sweep, swish, scrub, mop, wish
Exercise would work wonders
Results may vary

Saturday:
Hoe, weed, trim, mow, sweat
Get ready for a day off
List not finished yet

Sunday:
I am laughter-kissed
Rain washes my windows
Last thing left on list

Paradise Haiku

Poetics Aside Prompt: Write a paradise poem. What is your idea of paradise? Is it a person, place, or thing? Maybe it is an idea which changes like weather changes. Is it simple or complex? It can be what ever you want it to be. Create your own paradise! Perhaps it is even paradise lost.

in your arms, darling
is love's simple paradise
wanting nothing more

in your eyes, darling
trembles the needing of me
this is paradise

in your kiss, darling
weightless bliss dissolves our want
footholds fall away

Full Moon Haiku

Beneath orb pallor
the earth is a silver sea
where we drift homeward

***
beneath harvest moon
autumn day has gifted hours
to gather in sheaves

***

beneath heaven’s broach
the spoil of worldly beggars
is putrid plunder

***

mellow misty moon
paints platinum poetry
on onyx ocean

***

silver stepping stone
lover's lone lunar lamplight
polished perfection

***

gleaming, gentle gaze
probes passionate pondering
without word-wisdom

September-Summer Haiku

Pure sunflower gold
Clarifying absolutes
Like the color blue

***

Morning glory spills
In gleaming translucent glaze
On living's highway

***

Fall leans on summer
Teasing her umber tendrils
Sedums blush coyly

Walnut-leaf Harbingers

Premature stragglers
Scatter on green piazza
Prelude to gold rush

Our walnut trees are the last to leaf and the first to shed...

I can always count on those golden tears to mingle with my own 'heart-tears':)

Morning Miracles Haiku

Liquid miracle
Colombian pleasure melts
Early morning fog

 ***

Satin edges trim
Unyielding shrouds of darkness
Revealing its breadth

***

Keen ambivalence
Tunes emerging awareness
Slumber dissipates

Haiku...'under the microscope' Prompt

From umber granules
Laced with countless miracles
Everything begins

***
God breathed on dust
Man became a living soul
Setting him apart

 ***
Earth’s organisms
The study of scientists
All victims of Time
***
Microscopes cannot
Examine the mystery
Of man’s living soul

***
Immortality
Mankind cannot comprehend
Vast eternity

Haiku on Love

It’s safer that way
She says, locking herself in
Or, is she locked out?
 ***
A wall with no door
Is a barrier to flesh
But never to love
***
Love does not build walls
And walls cannot dissuade it
Love can seep through steel

Gardening Haiku

Digging and dreaming,
Peas, beans, squash, greens, tomatoes
Perfect spring garden

Weeding and hoeing
Pruning, staking, gathering
Summer sweat-drops pour

Rustling after-math
Trial and error complete
Autumn’s garden sighs

Pure, pristine canvas
Buried dreams begin to nudge
Winter’s garden sleeps

Digging and dreaming,
Peas, beans, squash, greens, tomatoes
Perfect spring garden…

Yes, that’s pretty much it!
Yet, it is the best therapy I know!

Favourite Foods Haiku

Poetics Aside Prompt: For today’s prompt, think of a favorite regional cuisine, make that the title of your poem, and then, write the poem. For instance, you may title your poem something like “Brunswick Stew,” “Deep Dish Pizza,” or “Jambalaya,” though the poem doesn’t exactly have to be about food.

 Favorite Foods Haiku

Oatmeal and wheat germ
Add ground flax and honey
Favorite breakfast

***

Fresh greens, red onion
Kidney beans and sharp cheddar
Simple salad bliss

Random Haiku

The Chestnut

Prickly exterior
Time breaks through its hardened shell
Smooth, genteel heart

Winter Wind

Icy white fingers
Clawing at noon’s mellow smile
Melting in his kiss

0~0~0~
The Rose…

Soft magenta folds
Bejeweled with crystal dew
Spills musky fragrance

A Little like a Snowfall Haiku

It falls soundlessly
In profound transformation
And then we are old

Limbs supple; fruitful
Surrender to time’s wisdom
White crowns youth’s forehead

Back into the earth
Returns all manner of life
A tiny seed stirs

White Grace Haiku

In the quiet night
the sky parted her dark lips
exhaling white grace

Moody Sky Haiku

Cantankerous sky
Mouth open wide, full sun smile
Returns to sealed lips

Janet~

I’m cleaning windows and trying to decide if it’s a  ‘hang out my laundry’ day...
The sun appears, to disappear.

After-dawn Haiku

The sky slipped upward
Lifting her bronze morning gown
Naked dirt fields weep

Janet

Morning Haiku

The sky fell at dawn
Metallic, molten fabric
On a frozen field

Tuesday Late Afternoon Haiku

Blissful caffeine jolt
Pianist seeking pleasure
Painful notes collide

Knitting needles click
Rush of rain beneath traffic
Supper sizzling

Daylight swallowed whole
Aroma of contentment
Sighs in the twilight

Janet~

Tuesday Morning Haiku

Groceries put away
Produce washed; ready to eat
Little boys playing ‘fort’

Rain-song on driveway
Heaven mirrored in the grass
Fog clothes barrenness
