From God... to God

It was a true delight to watch as New-day opened her eyes

...this is a course none can alter or force as we traverse Time's sod
We are on a one-way return-trip from God to God

Time's lowered gaze raises and chases the lingering dark
From night-warm arms of slumber to that port where we embark
On roads not taken yet, to destinies soft-veiled with naught
But that which we half-see conceived in the guesswork of thought

Urgency pours, implores; sky-rivers brim and spill in gold
From Heaven's God to sod; mercy ushers new over old
And we who yet remain on this side of Forevermore
Are caught up in hope's hungry tug-of-love-and-longing-war

Grace fills the cup uplifted like Spring furbishing the limb
Where human-race is gifted with a Masterpiece from Him
And all that we are called to do as on and up we trod
Is offer our best with what we have, from God to God

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: 1 Cor.13:12
