A Hand to Hold
May we never brush off as a mindless cliché
The words that will hold us through life’s rise and fall
There really is One who will show us the way…
And ‘God really will take care of it all’.
Janet Martin
It seems we can grow calloused to the power of His word
as we try to shoulder our own cares in this world…
Come unto Me, all You who are weary and heavy-laden
And I will give you rest. Matt. 11:28
I pray that each of us somewhere in this world can find
a 'Jesus with skin on'...A hand to hold when we are lonely,
A shoulder to lean on...we all need that.
Will we be someone's hand or shoulder today?

I like the idea of a "Jesus with Skin On." I will have to hold that though!
ReplyDeleteYes, I like that thought as well...it has stayed with me since the first time I heard it.
ReplyDeleteI think it's sad when people brush off all 'cliches'... are they still cliches if they're simple truth? Anyway, I also like what you said... "Jesus with skin on" :) I haven't been on here for awhile... I needed a bit of a cyber break to get things accomplished around our home, preparing for the ever colder days... and the holidays...
ReplyDeleteGod's truth's are never cliches, are they? I hope I always cherish them as truth and not simply words...
ReplyDeleteI hope to take a cyber-break in 10 days...I'm doing the poem-a-day challenge. It helps beat November blah's, then in December i will ease off considerably...I think;) Christmas is such an inspirational time of year...
