A Lesson in Love

If love has taught me
Anything at all
It is patience.

I do not know
If all things come
To those who wait…

Perhaps, we merely
Exchange what we are
Waiting for

In hope’s that it will
Arrive before
It is too late.

  1. So True :)

Love teaches us to be patient, compassion, where hope thrives to the core. If love results into hurt, it was never love at all.

  2. 'If love results into hurt, it was never love at all.' I'm pondering this last part. I agree with your first thought and also this if you are speaking physical hurt or emotional abuse...but I have hurt most deeply because of love than any other thing on this earth... We hurt for those we love when we see them discouraged, lonely, sad, angry BUT 'love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things' Right? The same loves in my life who have hurt deeply because of love also bring me life's deepest joy. Do you understand what I am saying? Faithful love can hurt like crazy because we care and no one is perfect...sometimes we stumble, but true love forgives and releases the hurt...time heals. I hope I make sense in my words what I am thinking.
When I lose focus on what love is I return to the words in 1 Cor. 13. Perfect love! and it never fails. I think it only fails when self is the one we love most.

    Love, Janet

:)) I smile as I sign it, realizing how powerful this word is. Love to the other side of the world with nothing to power it but thought and prayer...and that is enough.
    So much for this 'chapter'
As always, I really appreciate your thoughts. They make me think.
    Have a wonderful day.

  3. I never thought my thoughts would make think someone :D

Thank you so very much for indeed feels honored .

I agree with you as you said abt the faithful love...If I ever get hurt because of it...I would never complain.

But the hurt I meant was, when there is emotional and physical abuse, which according to me in not worth to continue such relation...and never be called as Love.

  4. Totally agree with you. There is nothing more selfish in the world than someone who abuses love...

Thank you for your visit to this porch. I'd love to hear if or how this post/poem touched you!
