Family...(or Best Gift Ever)

'This is the BEST day ever!"
declared Little Girl through a mouthful of raspberry jello and whipped cream💓😊
(don't we all feel like that when we have our mouths full of our favorite food?! lol)

Here's a fun little take on the poem-prompt below
Favourite Food
It is extremely hard to be rude
When one's mouth is full of one's favorite food!
So maybe the way to treat our fellowman
Is to eat as much favorite food as we can!😅

Happy April!

For today's prompt, pick a word that begins with F,
make it the title of your poem, and then, write your poem.

Today, ah, what a gift
Of sacred tears and smiles
As morning sets a barge adrift
That dusk deftly exiles

Today, ah, what a course
Of forceful ups and downs
A gift that God’s mercies endorse
And twilight’s tableau crowns

Today, a tray that tips
And who knows what will spill,
But He who permits and equips
According to His will

Today, ah, what a lease
From God to man is borne
The canvas of love’s masterpiece
-es restored morn to morn

Today, ah, what a call
It bears for you and me
To remember that we are all
A great, big family

Let’s treat each other thus
And treasure each Today
For nobody knows which of us
Will next be called away

Today, always today
The page where ink runs rife
And writes with what we do and say
The story of a life

Today, let’s live and love
As kindly as can be
For you and I are all part of
God’s great, big family

Rom.12:9-21

Love in Action
9 Love must be sincere.
Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.
10 Be devoted to one another in love.
Honor one another above yourselves.
11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
 12 Be joyful in hope,
patient in affliction,
faithful in prayer.
13 Share with the Lord’s people who are in need.
Practice hospitality.
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.
16 Live in harmony with one another.
Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position.[c
Do not be conceited.
17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil.
Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone.
18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you,
 live at peace with everyone.
19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends,
but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written:
“It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”[d] says the Lord.
20 On the contrary:
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”[e]
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

  1. Just saw this over on Poetic Asides - lovely poem and it made me ponder the world would be a much different place if only everyone thought like this!
