And That Believing We...

But these are written that you may believe[a]
that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God,
and that by believing you may have life in his name.
John 20:31

….and that believing we have life through His eternal name
Amidst this world’s trouble and strife we have hope without shame
No matter what mankind may do they cannot touch the soul
If we believe we have the pow’r of faith to make us whole
A joy unshakeable, though all else shakes our confidence
We know that we are able through Calvary’s consequence
He who suffered on our behalf for forgiveness of sins
Will never leave us Comfortless in this world’s sufferings
For we have the assurance in the trials that we meet
They forge firmer endurance so that faith may be complete
…and that believing we learn to be constant in our prayers
As we fix humbled yearning beyond this world’s sad affairs
Where joy we count comes from a fount they cannot comprehend
Until Belief opens our eyes we are like lost, blind men
But then, believing we receive the reason Jesus came
To give life more abundantly through His eternal name

in these darker days of health and economy!
May all who are seeking find
joy and peace through
Jesus' Name;
The True Light and Life-giver!

Romans 8:18-21

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing
with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.
For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly,
but because of him who subjected it, i
n hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption
and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God...

Forge On, Fellow-Follower

Remember your Creator in the days of your youth,
before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say,
"I find no pleasure in them"--
Eccles.12:1

Christians are under attack worldwide but forge on, fellow-follower of Jesus,
if God is for us who can be against us?! Rom.8:31

Forge on, the framework of today will fill with what we do and say
The things that test this rebel clay nobody can foresee
But take heart, all who trust the name of He who bore our guilt and shame
In spite of what heretics claim; God WAS, IS and WILL BE

His Word, infallible and sure will keep the believer secure
And help the runner to endure the race until the end
Do not despair, the oaths of they who do not follow or obey
Are in fear of the judgement day, so pray and pray, my friend

Forge on, dear fellow-follower of He who is Deliverer
Defender and the succour-er of all who by faith, trust
Be not afraid, love will not fail no matter what storms may assail
Until death lowers the dark veil that returns dust to dust

…forge on, the flesh that cups the soul where none but God maintains control
Will not escape the sacred goal (not even atheists)
Remember, every knee will bow and every tongue confess Him, wow,
Then we should pay attention now, ere Silver Cord untwists

Remember him--before the silver cord is severed,
and the golden bowl is broken;
before the pitcher is shattered at the spring,
and the wheel broken at the well,
Eccles.12:6

Creation's Example

Tis the season when believers and atheists alike
agree that creation/nature in autumn is a beautiful thing!

Inspired in part by Autumn and Psalms 104

Praise the Lord, my soul.
Lord my God, you are very great;
you are clothed with splendor and majesty.
Psalm 104:1

The world may try to ban His Name with bold and calloused ignorance
And they may plan with foolish fame to put their faith in luck and chance
And they may claim with shameless scorn that Holy God does not exist
While poised upon the brink of morn all grace and mist and mercy-kissed

...and all around creation spills God’s autograph in ridge and rills
And all around creation hails God’s artistry in woods and vales
And all around creation cries God’s name in sod and sea and skies
And all around creations rings with praise fit for the King of kings

The world may boast and raise a toast to lesser gods of rust and dust
And they may dare to scoff at prayer and make a mockery of trust
And they, of darkened understanding may think death is but a grave
Pitiful and uncomprehending of the love mighty to save

While all around creation shouts God’s majesty while the fool doubts
And all around creation heeds God’s providence in buds and seeds
And all around creation yields God’s goodness from orchards and fields
And all around creation brims with God’s Eden-anointed hymns

The world may try with every lie to prove the nothingness of God
The bird, the bee, the butterfly might get a scientific nod
And with great faith they embrace ‘likely theories’ grandly unfurled

While all around creation beams God’s glory in fountains and streams
And all around creation plays God’s music in ten-thousand ways
And all around creation fills God’s framework with valleys and hills
And all around creation frees God’s wink in mountains, flowers, trees

The world may make a lot of noise while trying to disprove I AM
Pity the one made in His image who insists God is a sham
Pray they may find the Way the Truth the Life before it is too late

Reconciling Our Differences...

Over and over Motherhood and 'mortal-hood'
tests our willingness to let go and let God...

Ah, love of God, so oft misunderstood
Thy rod seems harsh that works for mortal good
Beneath the weight of hope and hunger’s ways
Thy word abides to guide us all our days
Where He who bled and died upon a cross
Will test our pride to burn away the dross
To see if what we boast is but a sham
Or meek and honest trust in Thee; I AM

Beneath the cares that pain this human grail
Thy loving kindness will not wane or fail
But heals the hurts of love’s great agonies
Thy grace sufficient for the least of these
Where forgiveness that we could never earn
Lends joy to all that we are called to learn
You draw us from conceit’s suave trickery
And fill the heart with awe’s humility

Thy evidence only a fool denies
Thy Providence ministers and supplies
Thy ways exasperate man’s come and go
Thy truth and mercy none can overthrow
Thy gaze restores our faith, rebukes our fears
Thy promises and loving kindness cheers
Thy blood delivers us from debt we owe
Thy love, the gifted grace whereby we go

Ah, love of God, so oft misunderstood
Ah, vexing rod that works for mortal good
Beneath the height of hope and hunger’s need
Thy word abides to guide and intercede
Where He who paid sin’s debt upon a cross
Will sweeten heaven’s gain with earthly loss
To see if our worship is a sham
Or sacred gratitude to Thee; I AM

Our God Is An Awesome God!

Author of sky and sea and sod
Our God is an awesome God
Worshipers hail Him and applaud
Our God is an awesome God
No one can thwart His will or plan
Beneath His Power, what is man?
Our God is Righteousness and peace
His Government will never cease
On Him trust's confidence relies
To Him the humble sinner cries
Through Him Redemption's price is paid
By Him the world's foundation laid
For Him the fields of flowers bloom
With Him there is no fear of doom
His visage greater than Time's scope
His Promises secure man's hope
His Bearing who can comprehend?
He has no beginning or end
He is not mocked, He will prevail
His Word is Truth and will not fail
Author of love, He is no fraud
Our God is an Awesome God
