Sweet Confidence or Complete Confidence

Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love,
that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
Psalm 90:14

While writing this poem I looked up today's Daily Bread Devotional,
What encouragement, what hope we have in this little life on earth!

Love how this fellow-Ontario-an/Canadian David Wesley uses his gift for God's glory!

The love of God for man
Thought cannot comprehend
The love that in Eden began
Its wonder without end

God’s favour rests upon
Unfeigned humility
His faithfulness ignites the dawn
With Hope’s authority

Where evil dominates
With hate, dread, gloom and fear
The goodness of God permeates
The heart with love’s kind cheer

What gladness Mercy grants
Where joy and heartache wend
No matter what the circumstance
God is a faithful Friend

The power of His name
Pierces the dark with Light
We hope in He who overcame
Death with eternal life

Therefore, though we are tried
Our confidence is sweet
For if God is on our side
No evil can defeat

this morning I am including the passage before the verses I have shared the past few days...

Romans 8:28-39

God Works in All Things

28And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose. 29For those God foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers. 30And those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; those He justified, He also glorified.

31What then shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also, along with Him, freely give us all things? 33Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34Who is there to condemn us? For Christ Jesus, who died, and more than that was raised to life, is at the right hand of God— and He is interceding for us.

More than Conquerors

35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36As it is written:

 For Your sake we face death all day long;

we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
