The air has a touch of softness tonight
All I can hear is the long drawn-out sigh
Of mist and moon-light.......
Drifting to me from the vast edge of the earth
In an eternal note of sadness
Enfolding the universe.......
With melancholy song....
It's tremulous murmur washing over me
No, the night is not long......
For soon it is summer, tomorrow
Stretching before me in a sea of dreams
And forgotten sorrow......
The waves draw back a breath or two
Then fling across us in naked mirth
And now the sky is blue..........
