If You Were I and I Were You...

 This was yesterday...
She thought it was a perfect coolish-autumn day to tromp through  the woods
and he thought it was a perfect coolish-autumn day to turn up the heat and have a big sleep.

If you were I
And I were you
Then when we two
Would get together

I suppose

…on second thought
We still would not
Understand each other
Any better

To Be A Gentle Man...

In order to raise honest, courageous younger men
we need honest, courageous, older role models.
Thank-you to all the Dads who have made this their goal,
...to love their loved ones with heart, hand and soul

Strive to do the best you can
Son, to be a gentle man

In this world of haste and greed
Gentlemen are what we need

Men who do not live to please
Desires of selfish ease

Men who stand tall, strong and true
By small kindnesses they do

Men who travel second miles
Though an easy chair beguiles

Men who do not quit the fight
Though their hair is snowy white

Men who know what they believe
And thereby none can deceive

Men of courage, steely nerve
Through remembering Who they serve

Son, learn with humility
To be the best man you can be

…to accept your role with grace
Knowing God made you for this

Glad to stand for what is right
Vow to fight the goodly fight

Dream a dream, work with a plan
But son, still be a gentle man

Learn to value love with deed
One who serves not self, but need

Listen to That Still Small Voice
Revere the effect of Choice

But mostly help us not forget
You learn by examples we set

Thank-you to my dad who strove to raise strong, gentle sons and daughters by example

Dear Dads,

 The Lord bless you
    and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
    and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
    and give you peace.”’

The Awakening (OctPoWriMo)

Inspired by this music video (hit mute then feel it) or don't
because the music is too good to miss!
linking to OctPoWriMo

Seeking half-smiled approval, he relents
And wakens a dream in her innocence

The wide-eyed friendship of childish ways
Plants stars in the blue of love’s student-gaze

Age-old Newness bewilders gravity
Surprising the heart with Discovery

…and as it has been since Time began
Boy learns to shoulder the call of a man

also inspired by this day:)

 Let's Dance

A gold cello stirs
Dawn's cobalt deep
Unfolding dreamers
From cotton-clad sleep

It rends
Time’s ageless Overpass
With liquid notes
of broken glass

Earth's vestibule
Of trees and streets
Unfurls a ballroom
Beneath feet

...and one more, just because it's fun:)

Crepe coverlets
cradle rainbows
before the bloom
breaks free

Your glance
grazes my skin
and wakens
the woman
in me~

Where Are You Going, Little Boy?

Where are you going, little boy full of fun
I’m going to wade where the little brooks run

Where are you going boy, brave with mischief?
I’m going to chase the wind chasing the leaf

Where are you going, boy of eager grin?
I’m going to explore the day I am in

Where are you going, my dear, dashing fellow?
I’m going to splash in the morning so yellow

Where are you going, so carefree it seems?
I’m going to sail on a sea made of dreams

Where are you going and how, little lad?
I’m going to play with my puppy, dad

Where are you going, dear son, full of plan?
Why, I’m on my way to becoming a man
