Where Ethereal Oceans Skim...

So much beauty to savor,
Midst much sorrow and woe
Not by our merit or favor
but by God's mercy/goodness we go...

I had just typed the first two lines of this poem
when the phone rang. Jim was loading cattle at a nearby farm and wondered
if I could bring him a fried egg sandwich so I did and this turned into
an early morning errand run,
 granting these sweet photo ops!

Rush hour on rural Ontario roads...

Pastoral pastures...

Daybreak rolls like a golden sea
Across the countryside...

Daybreak rolls like a golden sea
Across the countryside
A fleeting flood of majesty
Beneath hope’s groaning stride

Where we of sundry circumstance
Of mingled bittersweet
Are dearly loved by He who grants
Dawn’s sea beneath our feet

Across time’s scape of gaping graves
Ethereal oceans skim
The Giver walks amidst the waves
And bids us lean on Him

2 Cor.4:18
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen,
 but on what is unseen,
since what is seen is temporary,
but what is unseen is eternal.
