Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The [b]help of my countenance and my God.
Psalm 43:5
The World tells us to reach within ourselves!
The Word tells us to reach out to God and trust...
in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God
As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes. 16For the wind passes over it, and it is [b]gone, And its place remembers it no more. 17But the mercy of the Lordis from everlasting to everlasting On those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children’s children, 18To such as keep His covenant, And to those who remember His commandments to do them.
So much to steal our breath in His Word and in His works!
Psalm 10: 12-18
Arise, Lord! Lift up your hand, O God. Do not forget the helpless. 13 Why does the wicked man revile God? Why does he say to himself, “He won’t call me to account”? 14 But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted; you consider their grief and take it in hand. The victims commit themselves to you; you are the helper of the fatherless. 15 Break the arm of the wicked man; call the evildoer to account for his wickedness that would not otherwise be found out.
The Lord is King for ever and ever; the nations will perish from his land. 17 You, Lord, hear the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry, 18 defending the fatherless and the oppressed, so that mere earthly mortals will never again strike terror.
