But By The Grace Of God ABC's

If you still feel grumpy after this song, well then I'm not sure what to recommend other than,
listen to it again!!;-))

Sometimes it is SO easy to get upset with politicians, people who do things against our beliefs and preferences, but if we remember the grace of God to us it reminds us to offer this same grace to others.

But by the grace of God we are...

Able,
Blessed,
Compassionate,
Diligent,
Equal,
Forgiven,
Gracious,
Humble,
Important,
Joyful,
Kind,
Loving,
More,
Noble,
Obedient,
Precious,
Quieted,
Remorseful,
Saved,
Trustworthy,
Understanding,
Virtuous,
Wise,
X-pedient,
Yielded,
Zealous

Janet Martin

This is one version. You might enjoying writing your own!

As we continue the study What's So Amazing About Grace
I am impacted over and over at its profound fullness and power.
Pray what we glean is more than head-knowledge.

Another Autumn ABC

Apple-boughs bend ‘neath the bounty of Red
Birch-leaf-shaped butterflies flutter by, gold
Candle-light flickers on limbs overhead
Dusk drips from lintels daylight cannot hold
Earth is a Masterpiece hung from the sky
Flower-like petals settle, paper-plush
Gilding streets with summer’s lost lullaby
Halo of heaven crowns bramble and brush
Is there a poem more perfect than this?
Jaded arrangements of wild, wind-swept vine
Kiss of a rain-runnel, smoky blue bliss
Love songs and laughter and tears intertwine
Marmalade mosaics stipple earth’s sod
Nature holds nothing back; its poets swoon
Orchestral lyrics penned by none but God
Pumpkin-pie happiness tickles poised spoon
Quilt-tatters scatter, rainbow splattered shroud
Row after row of harvest disappears
Skein of wild-geese skims yon-scrim of low cloud
Trees shed their glory like youth sheds its years
Under an awning of autumnal blaze
Vermilion rivers rush beneath our feet
Whispering echoes of fleet, sun-steeped days
X-tracting flavors of life, bitter-sweet
Young to old pause, awestruck by nature’s throng
Zenith of praise swells in Hallelujah-song

Autumn ABC's

 OctPoWriMo day 12

Applause of leaf is brief, my darling
Bric-a-brac of seasons spill
Causing balladeers to ponder
Death and life and time’s quadrille

Everything is ‘but a season’
Flowers flourish, fade and fall
God, the Keeper of earth’s garden
Heaps the deep with seeded hull

Intimate, nature’s undoing
Jars joy-sorrow intertwined
Keening Consciousness pursuing
Love-loss-longing’s heart-soul-mind

Mulled moments meld gold to crimson
Naked nods the ravished bloom
Opulence transposed; each petal
Plays a swansong on spring’s womb

Quiet quickens clapping coppice
Russet rivers rush beneath
Shadows draining summer’s waning
Tress upon tempest-tossed heath

Umber skeletal umbrellas
Vex wind-minstrels; poetry
Washes worlds, once full of leaf-song
Xylophone-like gong sets free
Yellow, garnet, bronze-keyed skylines
Zephyrs strum their melody

A Word on a Page...

A word on a page spawns an infinite stage
Beckoning to the believer of ink
Curved curious creatures, a semblance of letters
Dares to reveal what we dream; what we think
Each author hears a different diction
Fiction or memoir; fantasy, fact
Groaning within us until we deliver
Heartache and hope in a word’s glorious pact
Its invitation evokes inspiration
Juxtaposed union of sorrow and joy
Keening our senses with fire and frustration
Love, loss and longing their legions deploy
Muting the minute hand; muzzling mere moments
Nothing can null the intent of their will
Oceans of thought swirl in ink-drop deliverance
Passion and poetry savagely spill
Quickening pulses or quieting worry
Raging like rivers or melting like mist
Skimming a surface of plain parchment paper
Torment and tiralee; loneliness kissed
Unearthing thought with the twist of a letter
Vexing, perplexing, then wildly set free
Word; are there any more beautiful; better?
X-ray of heart revealed in your melee
You seem inconspicuous; wee word on a page
Zenith of thought fills your infinite stage

Our home-work assignment in our Writer’s Group is to write an ‘alphabetical order piece’ starting with the phrase ‘a word on a page’. Our next meeting isn’t until January so I decided to play with the prompt this morning.
