"The way a child can cheer the day where innocence still
reigns
And rouse a glad hip-hip-hooray for things that never
change"
'Why don't you try to work at the puzzle by yourself for a little while I get the bread dough started'
I suggested to Little Girl this morning.
Proudly she showed me what she worked at but was frustrated because it wouldn't fit
into the finished part! I couldn't stop chuckling...
she had fitted every piece together incorrectly though they all interlocked perfectly!
The way a brand new morning brims with unsullied appeal
The way a slice of fresh-baked bread tastes like a
five-star meal
The way a line laden with laundry bobbing in the breeze
Inspires a hallelujah for life’s little luxuries
The way the bud still breaks and flares with nature’s
purest hues
Where nothing in the world compares with God-appointed
dues
The way the chrysalis of the Unknown holds folded wings
Where we like butterflies half-grown wait for what morrow
brings
The way a child can cheer the day where innocence still
reigns
And rouse a glad hip-hip-hooray for things that never
change
The way that trouble teaches us to treasure moment-grace
Where soon love’s lesson reaches us; the flipside of
embrace
The way we love (or ought to) before it is far too late
While day is like a flower and dusk like a garden- gate
The way the clock unravels hours in ribbons of past
The way mercy replenishes time’s spool and holds it fast
The way the woodland whispers with ancient wonder-buffets
The way nature surprises us in spite of seasoned ways
The way we often find our stuttered speech far too inept
To fit to perfect phrase the praise for Your promises
kept
The way a snowflake tumbles-twinkles-tassels, feather-dance
The way that weather does its thing in spite of
circumstance
The way a kind word warms us like a bowl of hearty
borscht
The way a prayer can arm us for the better and the worst
The way we need each other like a world-wide family
How crisis makes us sister and brother, not enemy
The way life’s simple things are often riches we don’t
prize
Until trouble reminds us with its blessings in disguise
…we thank You, Lord
Amen

Beautiful Janet- I hope you and your family are staying safe and well.
ReplyDeletethank-you Trish! We are doing well so far. Much to be thankful for. Our daughter in TO is working from her apartment and trying to keep healthy as well. I hope the same for you and your family! Whoever could have predicted this?!!
