Nobody's Loss...But

If we choose never to study God’s word
Never to think on Him, never to pray
Never to consider what will happen
When we come to the ending of life’s way

…if we choose never to seek or know Him
Never to wonder at His wondrous love
Never to meditate on Mercy’s Fullness
Choosing instead our own dullness to prove

If we never marvel as we stroll earth’s garden
Or pause to ponder as we smell its flowers
On what a great God offers hope and pardon
It will be nobody’s loss…but ours

and as a reader reminded me...nobody's loss but ours and God's. Did you know God desires(He does not need) but He desires a relationship with each one of us!

... For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
Phil.2:13
For I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice, the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.
Hosea 6:6

Happy March:-)
Wishing you a wonder-full Worship Day !

After Earth

We do not like to stare at Death
But sometimes we must, for then we
Remember we are dust to dust
And after earth, eternity

To deny the existence of
Something does not obliterate
The truth of life, death and God’s love
Or our appointment at His Gate

We went to a visitation/wake for a friend whose mother passed away.
Death makes us think, if we let it, doesn't it?!

Saturday Kisses

A few weeks ago I shared Our Favorite Chocolate Cake Recipe(one of my quick go-to's) *Here is another. I started mixing it while Saturday was feeling soft and slow, then suddenly wh-o-o-o-sh! it was gone. After multiple interruptions I returned to finish mixing and baking it just before supper.

Dog-eared lists twist Time’s prudence and passion
Vexing the hours of Saturday’s ration

This weekly portion of slow-exhale bliss
Tempers toil’s edges; sweet Saturday- kiss

Now Mundane-ness dons a friendlier hue
Don’t you love Saturday-eyes; sky-wide blue?

Don’t you love how her skirt shimmers and swirls
Where moments are music and women are girls?

…and Time is a treasure melding to  our hearts
Beautiful pictures that loving imparts

Once every week Edict lowers her gaze
And soft- kisses cheeks with Saturdays

*p.s. Mrs. Abner (Almeda Martin) the lady who submitted the recipe in this book, is my aunt. She is not well right now, suffering from leukemia, and I know she would sincerely appreciate your prayers!

The Perfect Reason for Our Prayers

The Perfect Reason for our prayers
Is Constant; Love, on our behalf
Does not disdain our repetitious
Pleas, nor does He ever laugh
Or count a prayer too plain or small
To lay before Him at His feet
The Perfect Reason for our prayers
Beholds where need-fear-faith compete
To shape the cry that has no words
As mortal prays, praises and pleads
We know somewhere, compassion-stirred
Perfection hears and intercedes

Seems like I'm always coming to God with something.
Oh, aren't you glad, glad glad we may?

Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

The Willing Will of Moments

The willing will of moments
Nudges to yonder deep
The intricate atonement
For all we cannot keep

The very thing we pine for
Burns, constant in our touch
To feed hope’s holy hunger
With teeny moment-cups

They never fully empty
Though all comes but to pass
The willing will of moments
Like shadows on the grass

…suggests a certain presence
Of all we cannot grasp
The very thing we pine for
Slip-slipping through our clasp

Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

2 Cor.4:16-18
