Children of Yesterday
We sigh at the vice of technology
Keeping our boys and girls from play
And wish for things like they used to be
We are the children of yesterday
We remember the good of the good old days
As its shadow of hardship fades away
We herald them now in sighs of praise
We are the children of yesterday
Computers and iPods can never replace
Holding an album or turning a page
We pity the victims of life’s frantic pace
We are the children of yesterday
We covet the aura of freedom’s bliss
As we pause to absorb the sunsets lay
It reminds us of those things we miss
We are the children of yesterday
