Invisible Brook

Today it draws me insistently
This invisible brook
Pouring into every crevice
Every darkened nook
Rippling over polished and faded
Markers of time
Of the silent storm
Full and over-flowing
With eager passion spent
I linger, quiet, content
And softly gaze
Through the glimmering haze
Listening to its dashing song
I press it to my heart
It eases me along
And I do not resist
But allow myself to be kissed
Before I am old
Too old for this
Before I am willing to say
I had a good life
I choose to stay
Immersing myself in its silver-gray
I am carried away…….
In my thoughts
My thoughts
My thoughts of you
