Then, When The Storms of Life...

 this song never gets old...

Ah, here we go again
Armed for life’s high and low
With love to bind the wounds of men
With grace whereby we go

Day breaks and draws us through
A myriad of halls
Until the sky is navy blue
As noiseless, the night falls

Where in between these banks
Of sky and sea and sod
We offer up a life of thanks
And leave the rest to God

For both heaven and earth
And the fullness thereof
Belongs to He who renders birth
And tends His flock with love

Then, when we are afraid
As trouble tests our will
Let’s lift our eyes to He who made
Today and abides still

His love will never fail
His love will never cease
Then, when the storms of life assail
His love will give us peace

Romans 8:35-39

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
Shall trouble or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
As it is written:“For Your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life,
neither angels nor principalities,
neither the present nor the future,
nor any powers,
neither height nor depth,
nor anything else in all creation,
will be able to separate us from the love of God
that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Hallelujah!

Beyond the Curtain

(I know, I've posted this song before, but I love it; the voice, the message and melody:) May we trust God with our tomorrows and thereby know peace. Wishing each of you His blessings in 2015.

Uncertainty is certain
Not one of us can know
What waits beyond the curtain
From whence all moments flow

And none of us are able
To see what lies ahead
Or weights tomorrow’s table
Where today’s spoil is spread

But, though we cannot vision
What lies beyond The Veil
It pours in pure precision
Through Hands that will not fail

Of Certainties

This little day is dawning
A gift from heaven’s throne
We know not what is spawning
Within its vast unknown

But this we know for certain
The Love that lifts night’s veil
Then draws again its curtain
Will never, never fail

We comprehend with dullness
Life’s trouble-twisted path
We cannot grasp the fullness
Of God’s love or His wrath

Yet this we know for certain
That Death is but the Door
And Time, the transient curtain
To God’s forevermore

I remember a preacher saying, when I was a child, that if we could ever see the fullness of God’s love we would never question it because it goes beyond anything our minds can comprehend. Then He said, in the same measure, if ever we would see the full wrath of a Holy God we would never seek revenge.

We all will see one or the other in eternity. This is an Immortal certainty.

Being Us

It is not easy
Being us
The drum we hear
Though oft perceived
Is more often misunderstood
Yet we are drawn
Not of ourselves
To the path of its beat
And I ask only this
God, guide our feet

It’s not easy
Being us
We battle
Not so much with others
As with ourselves
Born as shy soloists
Struggling to harmonize
And join the melody
Of God’s
Beautiful choir

It’s not easy
Being us
My dearest daughter
A mother cannot always choose
What her child receives
So just  continue being 'beautiful you'…and sing
Returning to the Giver
The gifts He allows
Humbly, from us
To Him

A Mother's Uncertainties

 Poetic Bloomings Prompt: Uncertainties

Over the years
I am certain you’ve heard me
Easing my fears
In last minute reminders...

“Use your manners now
Don’t talk with your mouth full
Be gentle, be kind and be careful
Respect your teachers
And your classmates too
When someone offers you a ride
Please say thank-you
Let others go first
Don’t push and shove
Say excuse me when you want someone to move
Walk, don’t run in church or school halls
Don’t spend money carelessly
If you go to the mall
Don’t drive too fast
Give the teacher that note
The permission slips
And the thank-you I wrote
Don’t waste your food
Do what is good
Someone is watching when you think you're alone
So do as you know you should
Mind your ‘pleases’
And your ‘thank-yous’
It’s okay to say no
When it’s the wrong you refuse
Play the game fairly
Obey the Golden Rule
Drugs are poison
And they are not cool
Oh, and don’t drive too fast
Did I already say that?
Be careful…oh,
I’ve said that too
Many, many times, it’s true
Yes, I’m certain you’ve heard me
Over and over
But I am still quite uncertain
As to what you remember…
