To Moments We Have Left To Live






 Last night the sky went from one wow stage to the next...I was out from 7:30 to 8:30 watching the splendor of God's 'outer fringes' in full glory!

 In Jonna's tribute to Kara Tippetts she reminded us how Kara said "...what I have is Jesus. He has given me breath, and with it I pray I would live well and fade well. By degrees of doing both, living and dying, as I have moments left to live." 
Should that not be each of our desire, as we have moments left to live?

We do not know and none can tell
When we will bid Time’s chime farewell
Then we should strive our best to give
As we have moments left to live

How stilly ebbs the fading day
Over the west and far away
Matrix of mercy’s take-and-give
Of old to new moments to live

Pray we do not ill-treat the air
Drenched with our little Here to There
For none can tell how full the sieve
Of moments we have left to live

There is no rehearsal for this;
Life’s last and awesome farewell kiss
Then may we our full fervor give
To moments we have left to live

Why Rejoice?

'Why rejoice?' asked Victoria (reading yesterday's post) as she thought of the littles who just lost their beloved mommy.

“Because she is with Jesus and not suffering anymore! The battle is won!”

We mourn because of love
Yet, rejoice in death’s grief
Because she is with Jesus and
Everlasting relief

We mourn for death impedes
The fellowship of touch
And though the body selfish pleads
For the old days and such

…we would not call her back
To this old world of pain
Because she is with Jesus and
Someday we’ll meet again

...for all of us who felt like we knew her.


Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold. 2 Cor.3:12

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.  Matt.5:4

All around the world we mourn Kara's passing but rejoice in her victory! All around the world prayers are prayed on the Tippett family's behalf.

Whether We Know It Or Not





The shawl that night lay, dark and deep
Across earth’s hustle-bustle sweep
Is thinning; and the sleep that bore
Today away, wakens once more

Light, weighted with life’s hope-and-trust
Inclines our feet toward its dust
Where Unknown spills God’s will or else
The consequence of serving Self

Wise and foolish alike commence
Toward dusk’s ruby-throated Thence
And whether we know it or not
We go, but by the grace of God

To Where We Never Part





Inspired by the post and comments of Momentary Tears

'God bless and keep',
For though we weep,
We do not weep in vain.
This parting kiss
The catalyst
To where we meet again

We cannot pry
The ‘what’ or ‘why’
From Mercy’s nail-scarred Hands
This weeping dust
Must meekly trust
In He who understands

…and then one day
He’ll wipe away
These tears that rend the heart
Death’s bitter dread
A stair we tread
To where we never part

On Our Passage to the Ultimate






Time’s heyday in gray garb of mist
Wakens a world cold-shower kissed
But we don’t really mind the rain
When it is near spring-time again
From Saturday to Saturday
Winter like life, soft-seeps away

…and Time, beneath the great command
Of He who weighs and pours its sand
Spills Saturday across earth’s brake
Where morning is a summer lake
And we, upon its week-washed banks
Linger to give God humble thanks

For we did not escape His care
And walls that last Heyday were bare
Are decked with sundry memories
Where Time is laid to rest in these
A week-to-week-to-week façade
That ultimately leads to God

It is good we cannot see

Into Time’s certain soon-will-be

But oh, that we may claim the peace

Of He whose care will never cease

Yes, it's good we don't know who will have the fender-bender when(last week), 


which day the roof will leak(the other day), 


or which day the puck-in-the-eye will send us to emerg. for half-a Saturday (a month ago) This is not as serious as it appears ...a 2cm cut needed a pressure band-aid because it wouldn't stop bleeding;-)
