There Will Be Hell To Pay...

There is a lot of focus on 'fun' these days...
Hellfire sermons are not fun,
nor are hellfire poems.
Hell is no laughing matter
but as surely as there is a Heaven.,
there is a hell!!!

Sometimes something happens to remind us,
as just as physical check-ups are wise/vital
so too are spiritual checkups!

To the pure, all things are pure,
but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure.
In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted.
They profess to know God, but by their actions they deny Him.
They are detestable, disobedient, and unfit for any good deed.

1 Cor.6:9
Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God?
Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters
nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men...

Rom.1:24-25
Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity
for the degrading of their bodies with one another.
They exchanged the truth about God for a lie,
and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—
who is forever praised.
Amen.

1 John 2:3
Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.
4He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments,
is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God [a]is perfected in him.
By this we know that we are in Him.
6He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

1 Tim.1:8-11
We know that the law is good if one uses it properly.
9We also know that the law is made not for the righteous
but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious,
for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers,
10for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality,
for slave traders and liars and perjurers—
and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine
11that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God,
which he entrusted to me.

Rev.21:8
But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers,
the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—
they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur.
This is the second death.”

There will be hell to pay
For all whose works deny
The God of earth and heaven and
Turn truth into a lie

There will be hell to pay
For all they who approve
The disobedience of they
Who dare to call it love

There will be hell to pay
For lovers of the world
After Time's wink is done away
And judgement is unfurled

There will be hell to pay
God is not mocked; His truth
Will save. remember him today
In the days of your youth

Before your heart turns hard
Before death's dreadful day
When disobedience is judged
There will be hell to pay

Janet Martin

Eccles.12:1
Remember your Creator in the days of your youth,
before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say,
“I find no pleasure in them"—

The Crucial Undertaking...of Choice

The choices we make are the result of what/who we believe...

Want’s ways and means are wily when it comes right down to it
Where choices that we make expose what we suppose well-hid
For better or for worse we prove love’s fundamental vow
By what we choose and how we use the sacredness of Now

The voice of choice speaks louder than the words we boldly spout
It tells the truth in language that leaves little room for doubt
For as a man thinks so he is, where what we dearly love
Without a word the evidence of choice will surely prove

How foolish to believe that we can outsmart consequence
Or concoct ways and means that disguise disobedience
The Word of God when hungered for and fed upon will prove
By choices that we make who we most worship, trust and love

This crucial undertaking offers countless ways and means
…satisfy Self or honour God; there are no in-betweens
And though we may console that prick of conscience with a tart
The choices that we make expose the person of the heart

It is not hard to sweet-talk caution into Good Excuse
Where recompense is always hinged to the action we choose
And if we are not keenly tuned to He who never lies
Then we are perfect prey for wolves dressed up in sheep’s disguise

God who is rich in Mercy is not mocked; His judgements just
His ways past finding out (unlike the likely likes of us)
Then lest we fool ourselves into believing the wrong voice
We ought evaluate love by examining Choice

The aftermath of Choice will yield Happiness or Regret
Do not despair for we stand where Choice is not finished yet
And though we live and die by the choices we make, Today
Is like a table laden with Mercy’s fresh Choice-buffet

“There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, "Thy will be done,"
and those to whom God says, in the end, "Thy will be done."
All that are in Hell, choose it.
Without that self-choice there could be no Hell.
No soul that seriously and constantly desires joy will ever miss it.
Those who seek find.
Those who knock it is opened.”

C.S.Lewis The Great Divorce

Joshua 24:14-15

“Now therefore fear the Lord and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness.
Put away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord.
15 And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve,
whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River,
or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell.
But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Lyrics
The wall on which the prophets wrote
Is cracking at the seams
Upon the instruments of death
The sunlight brightly gleams
When every man is torn apart
With nightmares and with dreams
Will no one lay the laurel wreath
When silence drowns the screams
Confusion will be my epitaph
As I crawl a cracked and broken path
If we make it, we can all sit back and laugh
But I fear, tomorrow, I'll be crying
Yes, I fear, tomorrow, I'll be crying
Yes, I fear, tomorrow, I'll be crying
Between the iron gates of fate
The seeds of time were sown
And watered by the deeds of those
Who know and who are known
Knowledge is a deadly friend
If no one sets the rules
The fate of all mankind, I see
Is in the hands of fools
The wall on which the prophets wrote
Is cracking at the seams
Upon the instruments of death
The sunlight brightly gleams
When every man is torn apart
With nightmares and with dreams
Will no one lay the laurel wreath
When silence drowns the screams
Confusion will be my epitaph
As I crawl, a cracked and broken path
If we make it, we can all sit back and laugh
But I fear, tomorrow, I'll be crying
Yes, I fear, tomorrow, I'll be crying
Yes, I fear, tomorrow, I'll be crying
Crying, crying
Yes, I fear, tomorrow, I'll be crying
Yes, I fear, tomorrow, I'll be crying
Yes, I fear, tomorrow, I'll be crying

Of Love and Justice

God’s love beheld our hopeless state
Mankind born into sin
God’s justice knew the blood of rams
God’s love offered His only Son
To die in our place
As we are saved by grace

God’s Son did not come to this world
But Love and Justice gave Himself
To purchase our salvation
So Love offered a way
For every sinner to be clean
On that Great Judgment Day

God’s love beholds our hopeless state
Sin’s vile and curs-ed seed
But once for all He paid its price
As He died in our stead
God’s justice binds our debt of guilt
As we cry, I believe
God’s love beholds His Son’s blood spilt
As we His Gift receive

While man beheld His suffering
As Jesus bled and died
To sinners justified
And while men jeered in victory
Of Jesus crucified
God's love beheld Hope's finished work
Justice was satisfied

What is Justice?

“Justice” screams the mob
Let him pay for what he has done
…and they turn with hate to chant his fate
He, the unwanted…nobody’s son
