Blissful Ignorance

PAD challenge day 22: For today's prompt, write an organism poem.

There is a scientific explanation for all the wonders of creation!
While I don't condone stupidity
I do see some merit in blissful ignorance😅
and simply reveling in the beholding/listening.

I will thrill to trills and warbles of spring's feathered orchestra...

I am blissfully ecstatic without the wherefore and why
Of the stunning, unprolific declarations of the sky...

I prefer the panoramic pages of dusk's countryside...

You may keep your scientific, staid specifics if you please
I am quite content to linger beneath music in the trees
I will thrill to trills and warbles of spring's feathered orchestra
Rather than drills about mating and territorial blah-blah
I am blissfully ecstatic without the wherefore and why
Of the stunning, unprolific declarations of the sky
Hail to all scholastic sages, to all valedictorian pride
I prefer the panoramic pages of dusk's countryside
You may muse and mull, sweet scholar, over microscopic tracts
I am quite content to marvel without knowing all the facts...

God bless all the scientific geniuses for their gift
I am quite content to lie beneath the sky where cloud-ships drift

At the Mercy of the Muse...

Enchanting insanity
Double-edged bliss
Of tormenting misery
Disguised in a kiss
…that kiss leaves me wanting
And hungry for more
So I reach for the taunting
Where mysteries implore
As I grasp for its drenching
I resist, then beseech
The lyrical quenching
Just beyond my reach…

I cannot bear it
And oh, yet I must
Fling into the air its
Glitter of dust
Beguiling whisper
Driving me mad
But if she should leave me
I would be so sad
For Muse is a soul-mate
With venomous kiss
Muse is a lover
Of bittersweet bliss

Alexandria, it really is a doubled-edge brutal bliss:)

Of Mortal Bliss

Come darling, plant that kiss right here...or here
Love is not a ball and chain
Passion swells for rich or poor
None can claim its rare refrain

Caviar or grittle-cake for tea
With you, either one is grand
Agression and humility
In love, my love, walk hand in hand

Darling, thought triggers reckless wanting
Reckless wanting drives me mad
The flicks of wild and whispered taunting
Rage against the miles that spread…

…twixt amorous and easy laughter
Twixt the loss of gravity
Before the tender ever after
Of love’s finest ecstasy

Spray the world with rainbow glitter
Crack the flask of mortal bliss
None relishes a placid quitter
Oh darling, come and plant that kiss…

Still

Once upon a day you let me hear
The breakers crash upon the shore
But skies are gray, so gray my dear
And I can’t hear them crashing anymore
I trace the outline of your faultless innocence
Beg for oceans, raging deep inside
Where once you caused my eager heart to dance
Your pleasing satisfaction is denied

Tormentor of my secret, craving bliss
I cannot, oh I cannot love you now
Though, how I covet your designing kiss
Your whisper cools in silence on my brow
You lie there now, emotion drained and dead
Your reckless passion distant, cold and still
A coiffure filled with naught but ink-stained dread
I plead against your unresponsive will

Once upon another sweeter day
Perhaps you’ll stir in me so graciously
A long-forgotten, tender melody
And maybe then, oh love, then we will be
Inseparable in spirit, two as one
How, oh how I long for that again
But for now your lure and passion seem far gone…
…and you are just a cold and lifeless
Pen

Love's Bliss

A calmness seeps into my mind
And washes over me
Yesterday is far behind
Tomorrow still to be
But in this moment I am in
No one can steal my bliss
It wraps me in Time's gentle grin
And cheers me with its kiss

Yesterday’s regret is past
Tomorrow; merely dreams
And moments slip away too fast
Caught up in phantom streams
Where soon it seal the smile and tear
As tenderly I languish
Within the ebb and flow, my dear
Of ecstasy and anguish

I have but one small moment now
Before it too is history
Melting like fragile April snow
As now unveils its mystery
What is to be must surely be…
I close my eyes a moment
And let time’s kiss wash over me
In tears of joy and torment
