Reflection....

Along one side of the continent, hurricane and flood, on the other devastating forest fires
To we, not suffering in these areas, much opportunity to help/pray for those doing hands on help!

As we love others
Along the way
Of humble, holy
Day-to-day
As we pay kind and
Earnest heed
To one-others
Common need
As we, with what
We say and do
Reflect a heart
Faithful and true
We testify
Through deed and word
The love we have
For you, oh Lord

Of Life

Hello:)

Of Sacred Relinquishment
Of what none can rule
Of Humble Homage
Of Noble Knowledge
Of Wisdom’s College
Of Learn’s Lifelong School
Of Merciful Measure
Of Touchable Treasure
Of Bud-to-bloom pleasure
Of Raw Recompense
Of Smiles, free and jolly
Of Miles high and lowly
Of Moment-ous Holy
Of Death’s Imminence

It began as a few 'of's jotted down as inspiration ideas...
Today I turned the 'of-list' into a single poem; Time not leaving me free to expand on the ideas SO
who knows, some of these lines may reappear down the way as poem titles or thought expanded:)

No Use Pretending...Summer Is Ending

With the cool, wet weather we’ve been ‘enjoying’ it comes as no surprise…summer is ending!

The weather-page simply reminded us in case we are missing it;-)
Please be safe, dear Floridians!

This week's rainstorms offered up some most unusual backdrop colors...

Summer is ending
No use in pretending
What once was tender and green is still so
August arrangements
Morph into estrangements
Darling, rich tress dons suggestions of snow

Pray, the Lord willing
With fall colors spilling
We will surrender summer’s lusty strains
Futile to tarry
And mourn moments merry
Darling, let’s make the most of what remains

Caramel glimmers
And tangerine shimmers
Flare on stares startled by bearings bereft
Of days much younger
And sunny and stronger
Darling, who knows where time goes; what is left?

Look in the mirror
Ah, truth is much clearer
When it confronts what was youth, face to face
Summer is ending
No use in pretending
It is July in September’s embrace

Darling, the hours
That filled and spilled flowers
Fades from the forefront; fall’s air wears blue-gray
Darling, each season
Is rife with kind reason
Let’s make the most of what soon slips away

so true, this quote from Charles Dickens...
"Nature gives to every time and season some beauties of its own;
and from morning to night as from the cradle to the grave
it is but a succession of changes so gentle and easy
that we can scarcely mark their progress."

Enjoying the joys of 'early autumn' such as Grandson:)
now 8 mos. old!

Of Everlasting No Return...

A few of Yesterday's Everlasting No Returns....

above; supper-salad from the glory-days of gardening:)

This place of leaves and grass and trees
That cups the steep of Time
Weathers both mortal piracy
And nature’s pantomime

It teaches ‘neath the elements
Of stars and moon and sun
The certainty of recompense
For Deed when it is done

Its plethora of choice invites
The voice of touch, not lips
Where aftermath of it incites
Present-day fellowships

Aha, the law of come and go
While souls are clad in skin
Insists upon both high and low
To gather harvest in

This place of sheaves on eve-tide’s slope
Of gardens gleaned and bare
Of fallow filled with faith and hope
And triumph and despair

Splays scenic ways to come to terms
With what none can escape
The everlasting no return
Of moments taking shape

Wishing you wonderful views of the mind
when today's everlasting no-return is left behind!
Blessings~

Of Life's Lovelinesses...

A stunning sunrise...after last night's skies kept worshipers transfixed through moon-rise!

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Ps.19:1

The loveliness of living spills
Like Love’s caress through trouble’s ills
Its unmerited blessing fills
The humble heart with hope
And offers glimpses of a Prize
Reserved in heaven’s paradise
It ushers gladness to our sighs
Plants flowers on life’s ‘nope’

The loveliness of living pours
In morning-streams through far-flung doors
As mercy offers polished floors
That none before have trod
Where creature need and creature care
Will ever be a bond we share
To bind mankind in earnest prayer
And fix our faith on God

The loveliness of living cheers
This thoroughfare of seasoned tears
It tames time’s tempest, wild with fears
In frames of ‘peace, be still’
Earth thunders with a picture-show
Where wonder wakens worship, oh
To praise God’s grace whereby we go
Through woe and trouble’s ill
