Vesper...

I snagged a few pics from the front porch because it did not work to dash up the road tonight to get a better view, (due to getting home and quickly packing up hubby's supplies so he could leave... )

On westward shore to evermore the floor of heaven’s threshold gleams
And gathers from the sum of moments that which fueled yester’s dreams
And as the light of day grows dim farewell’s requiem tolls like a bell
It trembles in this cage of skin where soft the silent shadows fell
Then faded into blue on blue until the only thing we see
Are stars on stars on black on black and me with you and you with me

…and sometimes we feel caught between the love of what we have and hope
Where what we had slipped from our hands like the sun slips from far west’s slope
And fingers warm with what they held reach toward what yet waits to fill
The fond farewells that do not tell just how or what echoes will spill
Where the tree etched against pink air captures our gaze then disappears
Like a snuffed blaze into the haze that turns todays to yester-years

The moon lies like a glimmer on a listless lake of ebony
Today glints like a shimmer on the ageless page of memory

Hidden Things

The mud does not expose the seed
The bud does not yet show the flow'r
The 'should' does not fulfill the deed
nor does the 'Now' foretell the hour

How often God disguises gifts
Strewn on these sands called time
Those hills we’d never wish for
Make us stronger as we climb
Those cares we’d never ask for
Shape the prayers we’d never pray
Those tears we weep help us revere
The smile-anointed day
Those storms of life that test the bark
Of mortal want and will
Would never usher through the dark
His whisper, “peace, be still”

Daniel 2:22
He reveals the deep and hidden things;
He knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with Him.

The Best There Is...

By grace and love of God befitted
Pray we are all to His High Call committed...
In our say-and-do that pours from thought's trove
May we strive to prove "the greatest is Love"

(another back cover of an Evergreen magazine)

It listens, remembers
It laughs and it weeps
It waits without fretting
And it never keeps
Record of one’s weakness
But knows we are all
Prone to learning’s acme
Through stumble-and-fall

It cheers with the winner
Suffers other’s loss
And leaves its own interest
To help with a cross
Placed on the stooped shoulders
Of a fellow-man
It is mercy in action
It is change of plan

It is a peace maker
To fake it is vain
A shoulder to cry on
A port in our pain
Its kind reason grounds us
So patient and sharing
God bless those around us
Who are truly… Caring

Gotta Get to The Wedding On Time!!!

Jim just called to tell me he figured something out;
there’s not enough time in a day or  hours before lunch…
He’s trying to get home in time for a wedding at one!
We definitely want to be ready for this wedding on time BUT if we're late there will be grace
...not so in that Great and Final Marriage Banquet.
Did you RSVP yet?
"Behold, now is the time of favor; now is the day of salvation!"
2 Cor.6:2

But, if we wait
‘til our work is done
It will be too late
The wedding starts at one

Ah, nobody here
Knows the day or the hour
When the Bridegroom appears
In glory and power

Today is for all
Whether rich or poor
To make our call
To His invitation sure

Say, what would we do
If this was the day
When our answer came due
Oh, what would we say?

Because if we wait
Til our work is done
It will be too late
The wedding starts at one!

Revelation 19:6-9 (ESV)

The Marriage Supper of the Lamb

Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude,
like the roar of many waters
and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out,
“Hallelujah!
For the Lord our God
    the Almighty reigns.
Let us rejoice and exult
    and give him the glory,
for the marriage of the Lamb has come,
    and his Bride has made herself ready;
it was granted her to clothe herself
with fine linen, bright and pure”—
for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints.
And the angel said[a] to me,
“Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.”
And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.”

For Precious You...(a Mother/Parent-to-daughter Birthday poem)

Happy 26th Birthday, Emily!💗
(Thank-you to a photographer in Nova Scotia for a lovely updated family-photo!)

Sometimes because of a mother's innate love and concern for her family,
as she faithfully prays the Lord to guard and guide them
...sometimes she forgets the simple prayer of 'thank-you for you'!

That 'room' beneath a mother's skin
overflows with fond picture-shows
of little girls in curls and bows
and echo-worlds wafting within

There many a care and many a prayer
Shapes and adorns, with tender art
The hallways of a mother's heart
As masterpieces tremble where

...she cannot reach but learns anew
How swift and soft Time's give and take
Turns moments into thought's keepsake
And fresh reasons to say thank-you

...for precious you; true, kind and sweet
Dear daughter-sister-mother-wife
She prays that God will bless your life
With grace for every day you meet

...she prays for Him to guard, guide, cheer
(So much to turn our eyes from Him)
and whether days are bright or dim
She prays you sense His Presence near

...and then, for forums fondly sketched
she thanks Him for the gift of you
And prays you learn to thank Him too
As mother's love is stretched and stretched

Love, from Mom
aka Janet

Dear Emily, (and family) the prayer I prayed for you while I was waking up this morning...
Inspired by Ps. 23

May the The Lord be your shepherd,
May you lack nothing.
As He makes you lie down in green pastures,
or leads you beside quiet waters,
May he refresh/restore your soul.
May He guide you along the right paths
    for his name’s sake.
Even though, should you walk
    through the darkest valley,
may you fear no evil,
    because He is with you;
may his rod and his staff,
    comfort you.
When He prepares a table before you
in the presence of your enemies
may He anoint your head with oil;
    until your cup overflows.
May goodness and love and mercy follow you
all the days of your life,
and may you dwell in the house of the Lord
    forever.

Amen
