The Light Eyes Cannot See

Ps.36:9
For with You is the fountain of life;
In Your light we see light.

Some light we see with our eyes...like the light of daybreak.

Some light we see by faith...

'Thou hast put gladness in my heart,...'
Ps.4:7

2 Sa.22:29, 31-33 & 47
For Thou art my lamp, O LORD,
and the LORD will lighten my darkness....
31 As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried:
He is a buckler to all them that trust in Him.
32 For who is God, save the LORD?
and who is a rock, save our God?
33 God is my strength and power:
and he maketh my way perfect...
47 The LORD liveth: and blessed be my rock:
and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation

You have put gladness in my heart
And in my sorrow, song
For in the darkness You impart
A light, steadfast and strong

You try the wants of humankind
With what appears as loss
Save till faith's spirit is refined
And cheered beneath its cross

Either darkness or light
Manifests the mien of reply
With cries of faith or sight

...and where darkness appears to veil
A way we cannot see
Your Word, a lamp that cannot fail
Throughout eternity

...instills the seeming dark with light
And fills the heart with praise
To know, to walk by faith, not sight
Perfects imperfect ways

To know to truly trust, I must
Yield all Self would bequeath
Until the gladness of true trust
Unveils the Rock beneath

Lord, grant within the constant care
Life/love is bound to impart
A beacon in each tear and prayer;
Your gladness in my heart

Someday life's troubles will be through
Till then, may each care be
A stepping stone that draws me to
The Light eyes cannot see

The Light that shines with hope and grace
With love, naught can destroy
The Light of our Saviour's face
To instill hearts with joy
