Behold The Comforter

John 14:18

I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

Grief is not all that it appears

Beyond the part we see

Of loss and farewell’s flowing tears

And mourning’s misery

Beyond the appearance of gloom

Sorrow holds out a key

For a Door to an Inner Room

Where Divine Sympathy

Unveils the fulfilled promise of

Mankind’s Deliverer

Behold, God’s outstretched arms of love

Behold, the Comforter
