Ink-Spinner
PAD Challenge day 7: For today’s prompt, write a poem with an occupation as the title.
There is NEVER a dull moment in an ink-spinner's world
everyone and everything is fodder for the craft
where dusk is sort of like a blue echo-banner unfurled
that threads the loom with freshest plume of loved-longed-learned-limped-laughed
Like tincture in a picture waiting to be autographed...
Words spoken keep walking
Words written keep talking!
From wisps within and threads of grin-and-bear it
consequence
From fallen leaves and eaves that drip with Awesome Imminence
From fantasy and reverie and oceanic surge
Of fronds that weave the tapestry of both ballad and dirge
From sum of season spent, or crumbs that fall from nature’s
flare
From faces, places, graces that we touch, miss, love,
kiss, wear
From colors we call Life where Farewell’s knife cuts keen
and oft
As ink-fodder runs rife from wells hard-pressed, yet
whisper-soft
From starry eyes unraveled, from a maze sighs traveled
through
From strings that spin This Thing that weds wonder with
hunger’s woo
From hold and letting go and oh, from Vintage
Bitter-sweet
Culled from the hull of moments that we crushed beneath
our feet
From tattered fray of yesterday, from hope’s Intangible
They spin mementos from the pathos of strung syllable
From fragments of hearts broken, from the moan of wind
and sea
With words, never yet spoken, Ink-spinners weave Poetry

Common Bond
PAD Challenge day 6: today’s Two-for-Tuesday prompt:
- Write a lost poem. Or…
- Write a found poem.
In a diverse human race
We share this common ground
Of soul-sweet smile upon the face
When what was lost is found
© Janet Martin
This morning my friend lost her keys, but they have since been found!
The rejoicing over this bit of news made me think of the story below and how GREAT that rejoicing must be!
Luke 15:3-7 New International Version (NIV)
3 Then Jesus told them this parable: 4 “Suppose
one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave
the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he
finds it? 5 And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6 and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ 7 I
tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven
over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who
do not need to repent.
On Finding Peace...
PAD Challenge day 6: today’s Two-for-Tuesday prompt:
- Write a lost poem. Or…
- Write a found poem.
Sometimes joy and peace are hard-fought battles!
Impossible unless we release our hold on the controls...
The heart, where tempest-torrents crash
To shatter hopes and dreams
Where what it holds should stretch its sash
‘til bursting at the seams
Where wars the force of good and ill
Where Self and Godhead spars
To harbour quite a spectacle
...Impulse Tattooed With Scars
Where finger-pointing attitude
Can damage and destroy
The cup that should hold gratitude
And be the mold of joy
Where nothing in the world can grant
With capital increase
The Thing that we all seek and want
Found through surrender; peace
The heart can be a stubborn mule
Fueled with foolish pride
But there is one who pulls the tulle
Of flesh and blood aside
…and sees that root of prized evil
And knows what we do not
Who cannot give us peace until
We do the Thing we ought
And to the One who calmed the storm
With three words, ‘peace, be still’
The heart also can find this calm
With three words, ‘not my will’

Looking for Joy (and finding it)
PAD Challenge day 6: today’s Two-for-Tuesday prompt:
- Write a lost poem. Or…
- Write a found poem.
Frames of mind can soon find reasons to be filled with
fear and doubt
Life is always on the ready with so much to fret about
We would be hard-pressed for laughter flowing from our
heart of hearts
Without Hope to cheer us onward through life’s rough-and-humbling
parts
Sometimes we lose sight of why we were put here, love’s
care to bear
The Unknown drops not a hint of what it holds twixt Here
and There
But as we press up and onward on the verge of
Come-what-may
We will find full joy is always just a thank-you prayer
away

An Un-sorry Apology
PAD Challenge day 4: For today’s prompt, write an apologetic poem. Maybe the poem itself is a
first person apology. Or it could be about someone apologizing to
someone else. Or maybe you decide to flip the script and write a “no
apologies” poem.
I'm not really sorry but here's an apology
to all of you who say you detest rhyming poetry 😉😕😊
