The Way We Cannot See

More music, and a little mirth by these guys here:)

Time’s wellspring from whence farewells flow
Bids us to savor each ‘hello’
Bids love’s pure praise, heartache to still
Where seasoned ways employ God’s will
Then we will not lose hope, oh no
For it is by His grace we go
Though Unknown wages wars of fear
We know that He is ever near
And we are not alone to trod
The way we cannot see to God
Therefore, in spite of sight's dim gaze
Faith fills our hearts and mouths with praise

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isa.41:10

On Learning to Learn

Do you sometimes wish you could make your children understand what as yet, they simply cannot?!
...until we remember our own journey of discovery and 'aha'.

We learn to learn, and so will they
For Father Time, patient and true
Without a word will have his say
For his ways do not change; we do

…and as we pass the Baton, we
See what our predecessors knew
Then with kinder humility
We learn to learn as they did too

…how running, makes us fall behind
But slowing, we gain ground…so strange
As Father Time, patient and kind
Teaches how some things never change

...that in life’s dwindling wake-work-sleep
It kindles a holier reach
For Something that no one can keep
And only Father Time can teach

To Impending Farewells

Oh, let’s not think about the day
When you and I must say farewell
Darling, let’s concentrate on May
Where bud deploys spring’s canticle

…of purple-gold-blue-blushing bloom
Let’s weave (though grief demands its due)
Love’s sacred joy, before the tomb
Commands its prey from me or you

Let’s make the most of what we have
A subtle sweep of day to day
Before the destiny of grave
Severs the threads we hold today

Pondering Principle

I had begun another train of thought for today's poem until a sobering conversation with Matt about 'planned parenthood' derailed it for now...

When you verbalize, word for word, the graphic acts that 'planned parenthood' entails it is as vicious an act, as the most heinous terrorist could claim, and its to babies!

Jesus replied, "You are mistaken because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.
Matt.22:29

No truly humble and obedient person will say
"I want my own way"

When we reject the principle of love’s matrix that God ordained
When we embrace depravity of human nature unrestrained
When we no longer bear in mind how humankind to God will bow
How can we think that God should wink at sin and still bless us somehow?

When His Word, truly wise and good is disregarded for world’s pelf
When minds are dark with what they do not even know they do not know
How can we still, dead to God’s will, shake fists at He who loves us so?

How, in a world so vile and churlish to humble obedience
Can we expect, (if we reject Jesus) mercy’s deliverance?
Then there can be no better days ahead if we have turned away
From He whose perfect Word abides and praise Him, has the final say

 Sober up as you ought, and stop sinning;
for some of you are ignorant of God.
I say this to your shame.
1 Cor.15:34

"They bend their tongue like their bow;
Lies and not truth prevail in the land;
For they proceed from evil to evil,
And they do not know Me," declares the LORD.
Jer.9:3
