Free For The Looking~

Is there anything more dazzling than a sun-splashed ice-ensconced world?!

(I know, this is kinda like looking at someone else's vacation pics after a while...
very nice but never quite like being there:-)

I feel like we were treated to a from-God-vacation to ice-land.

Melissa (daughter) is going to Iceland at the end of May.
I just messaged her to tell her if she wants to save money she could come home right now!
(I don't think she will think my joke is very funny;-)

Before our our eyes,
Beneath our feet,
Above our heads
 What joy God took
In spreading out a paradise
Free for the taking
If we simply...
Look!

Because this ice-storm passed without the headaches of downed hydro-wires, we could simply sit back and enjoy each 'Oh-Lord-my God-when-I-in-awesome-wonder moment!

Behoovements

On a morning like this it is not hard to 'Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise' Ps.100:4

Soon after the previous post the sun broke through the cloud-bar and I could ooh and aah to my poet-soul's content!

Since we are short on time
And long on eternity
It behooves us to employ
Life’s moments thoroughly

Since none of us can tell
How soon death’s bell will toll
It behooves us to prepare
For the home of the Soul

Since we are Here a bit
And There forevermore
It behooves us to consider
Who we are Here for

Without Second Thought...

"What are you doing", asked Matt as I stayed my post at the east window.
"I'm hoping the sun will come up", I replied...and for sixty glorious seconds it did!!

We put bread in our mouths
And shoes on our feet
We gaze at the ways of
Life’s everyday street
We touch, taste and traverse
What blessing has wrought
We walk through dawn’s doorway
Without second thought
…we pour second coffees
We gaze far and wide
We dream and we worry
As seasons collide
In moments soft-falling
Like leaves through the air
We trample time’s grasses
And sample its fare
While God rich in mercy
Fills in all the blanks
When we are so busy
We forget to give thanks

Where We Bid Today Adieu

Just before dusk the sun made an appearance turning earth into a glistening shrine!

Now night gathers woodland and heath
From scenes that thrill our gaze by day
As other worlds unfurl beneath
Star-littered awnings far away
And Heaven dips its brush into
Paint jars of onyx, silver-gray
As Earth becomes an avenue
Devoid of color-warped chambray
Then we shed our color too
And melt into the haunting hush
Bidding another day adieu
As it dwindles on twilight’s brush

Photos frame anemic glimpses of the real deal...

But By The Grace Of God ABC's

If you still feel grumpy after this song, well then I'm not sure what to recommend other than,
listen to it again!!;-))

Sometimes it is SO easy to get upset with politicians, people who do things against our beliefs and preferences, but if we remember the grace of God to us it reminds us to offer this same grace to others.

But by the grace of God we are...

Able,
Blessed,
Compassionate,
Diligent,
Equal,
Forgiven,
Gracious,
Humble,
Important,
Joyful,
Kind,
Loving,
More,
Noble,
Obedient,
Precious,
Quieted,
Remorseful,
Saved,
Trustworthy,
Understanding,
Virtuous,
Wise,
X-pedient,
Yielded,
Zealous

As we continue the study What's So Amazing About Grace
I am impacted over and over at its profound fullness and power.
Pray what we glean is more than head-knowledge.
