Till Life on Earth Is Through


Each new day overflows
With undefeated worth...


The gladness only God bestows
Undergoes grand rebirth



This time of year our hearts and minds start to turn Christmas-ward!
For the believer in Jesus, it is a glad celebration
 of the Living Hope, joy and peace we cherish every day!

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace
 as you trust in him, 
so that you may overflow with hope 
by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13




We walk by faith, not sight
The joy that we proclaim
By God’s grace, is the chief delight
Of all who love His name

We do not hope in vain
Our God, faithful and true
Abides with us midst fear and pain
Of this world’s fleeting rue

Each new day overflows
With undefeated worth

As we fix our gaze
While weathering the wearing ways

This is the day that the Lord has made.

Seems like every new day bleeds/breeds
A fresh crop of poems seeds


Seems like every season spills
Plethora of poem-thrills


Seems like every hour bared
Begs a poem to be snared


Seems the world is full of ink
Bidding thirsty bards to drink


Seems life is a garden room
Where poem-buds wait to bloom


Seems a pity then to haste
While a poem goes to waste


Where a moment waits to be
Woven into poetry


Seems reason enough to pause
To glean glints of poem-gauze


Seems like everywhere we look
Life is like a poem brook


Where each new day lilts and brims
With ten-thousand poem-hymns

Far More Than Some Yon Phantom Force...

Imagine if we could see as clearly the sacred date of Happy-halfway-through-life!
as we see dates like Happy-halfway-through-November!!
That's tomorrow, if we live to see it!

In the twinkling of an eye, time/mortality's skin-thin veneer will be rent and we will see God.
How we see Him here will greatly impact how we see Him there!
Do we see Him as precious Saviour of our Soul and glorious Lord of our life
or is He some far-off, antiquated Dictator of dos and don't that we decide not to bother with?!!
Is He our Friend and Heavenly Father or simply some yon force of fate??


Psalm 8:1 ESV
O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! 
You have set your glory above the heavens.

Don't Wait Till You Are Old...

Yesterday, as part of the teaching team in a room full of beautiful,
eager, smart, rambunctious Gr. 4-6 Sunday School students,
I couldn't help but long and pray
 for each of them to choose Jesus while they are young;
to be saved from a bitter harvest of wasted years!

Yesterday's was a solemn lesson; Jesus' crucifixion,
stirring and touching tender hearts!
Will you pray for them, and for children the whole wide world over
to believe in and receive Jesus as their Saviour while they are young?!!

On Saturday I compiled  this post after listening to the message below...
and before listening to the message our speaker preached yesterday

Devote yourselves to prayer, 
being watchful and thankful.

Freedom's Price is Steep


If only we only took time
to humbly and kindly love
If only we lived as if we believed
That what God/love gives is enough

Freedom’s price is steep where after-effects run deep; their loss, our gain
Freedom is never free, but a hard-fought and blood-wrought cross of pain
Love, the greatest command never fails; but kingdoms rise and fall
When leaders turn away and disobey God who is Lord of all

The Author and Authority of love is long-suff’ring and kind
Without Him we are a pathetic case of blind leading the blind

Until we love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, strength and mind
Freedom will fail. Travail of war will scream, blood red, dread’s streams unwind

At Life's Smorgasbord of Choices...

 

Life is not a big empty table like this one...


...before the guests arrived each with a freshly-baked delectable delight!


...turning the empty table into a smorgasbord of choices! 


Yesterday I was honored to host my mother's annual birthday tea.
All of her daughter's and daughter-in-laws are the annual guests;
this birthday tradition a long-standing, treasured highlight for all! 
Happy 81st birthday, dear Mother!



I am so thankful when weighing choices and responses/responsibilities
 that so many times without thinking I resort to 'what would mom do/say?'
And I know one of the answers was, is and will always be 'pray!' 

At life’s smorgasbord of choices
Desire is often tried
Where a host of friendly voices
Can make it hard to decide
Which to taste and which to turn from
Which to take and what to leave
For this is no feckless ho-hum
That our choices will achieve

…where each life is like a courtship
Between mortal and his/her Lord/lord
Exposing, through choice, true worship
Which in turn earns just reward
For, life’s smorgasbord of choices
When we listen, seems to be
Like a smorgasbord of voices
All shouting ‘pick me, pick me!’

Oho, there is no evasion
All are subject to reply
And we do; Delight’s elation
Is eager to satisfy
At life’s smorgasbord of choices
Replenished with each new day
Thus, because of all the voices
Wouldn’t it be wise to pray?

Pray for prudence and discretion
For hearts of humility
Where choice triggers a succession
Of choice-cruciality
Then, before we touch or savor
Today’s options, we should weigh
Their merit against God’s favor
And ask Him to lead the way

doing up some apples to applesauce

apple pie-filling

Clean and bag more potatoes
or sort through those I have bagged
because they are very rot-prone this year
due to all the rain we had.

Sentimental hues arouse...


Warmth from autumn’s waning embers...


Wafting from nigh-barren boughs...


Where the brittle corn rows shimmer
Weighed with final harvest-boon...


Where the revived pastures glimmer
Green as green as middle-June...


Where the heavy heavens splinter
With inklings of snowflake song...



Where the emptiness of gardens...
Lines canning shelves, row on row...



The poet's bliss is November
