This tree seemed to beg 'poem me' while on my walk today...

Barren bark of winter
Stripped of lullaby
Sketched in simple grandeur
Against azure sky

Sometimes a white mantle
Gilds your naked form
Winter’s stalwart sentinel
Weathering the storm

Nature’s hero braving
Lion-tempest’s roar
Soon you will be waving
Green-leaf limbs once more
