Whisper-soft...

Such blushing beginnings to today!

Whisper-soft the darkness
Yields to pink and gold
Kind of like heart’s hardness
Melts in love’s warm hold
Kind of like the winter
When it turns to spring
Kind of like a sinner
Sheltered by God’s Wing

Whisper-soft the mantle
Of night sheds its twill
Kind of like a candle
On earth’s window sill
Dissolving the darkness
With Hope’s gentle ray
Kind of like heart’s hardness
Dissolves when we pray

Whisper-soft light scatters
Shadows from the air
Kind of like love’s answers
To our question-prayers
Kindling from cold ashes
Mercy’s gleaming toll
Kind of like grace washes
Darkness from the soul

It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed,
because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness!…
