Trust (where surrender is victory, not defeat)

 A Familiar passage that never loses its power!
Prov. 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge Him,
and He will make your paths straight.

verses 7&8 are wonderful as well!

Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the LORD and turn away from evil.
This will bring healing to your body
and refreshment to your bones.

Trust turns dark dread to joy and peace
Doubt’s prison bars break and release
To make the future we must face
A journey of amazing grace

Trust takes the traveler by the arm
And leads us straight into the storm
Then, as we yield our want and will
It calmly whispers, ‘peace, be still’

Trust is not satisfied by speech
But requires faith as we reach
Beyond visage's little scope
To cling to Love's lifeline of hope

Trust turns toward the great Unknown
Content with step-by-stepping stone
Because the Keeper of the Soul
Is in complete and kind control

God moves In A Mysterious Way
by William Cowper

  1. God moves in a mysterious way
    His wonders to perform;
    He plants His footsteps in the sea
    And rides upon the storm.
  2. Deep in unfathomable mines
    Of never failing skill
    He treasures up His bright designs
    And works His sov’reign will.
  3. Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take;
    The clouds ye so much dread
    Are big with mercy and shall break
    In blessings on your head.
  4. Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
    But trust Him for His grace;
    Behind a frowning providence
    He hides a smiling face.
  5. His purposes will ripen fast,
    Unfolding every hour;
    The bud may have a bitter taste,
    But sweet will be the flow’r.
  6. Blind unbelief is sure to err
    And scan His work in vain;
    God is His own interpreter,
    And He will make it plain.
