Human Race...

The race is on; the finish line
Is a place no one can define
Yet all of us, foolish and wise

The race is on; not all will win
Or hear that wondrous ‘enter in
The Prize that waits; let none deceive

Then let us try, earnest and wise
So when the finish line is plain
We did not run life’s race in vain

Of Faithfulness and Finish-lines

PAD Challenge Day 1: Write a beginning and ending poem

It is not in how we begin
That tests what is inside
But it is how we finish
That will prove how hard we tried

No, the beginning of a race
Is not where we define
Man’s strength of character and will
But at the finish-line

Endurance is not proven where
We start with burst of youth
But as we reach the finish-line
The end reveals the truth

May these words be our earthly farewell victory-cry...
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Tim. 4:7

The Finish

Tis not the start of the race we applaud
Though we cheer the participant on
Tis as they cross the finish line
We clap and say ‘well done’

Many begin this race with hope
And good intentions too
But then become distracted
By a kinder avenue

It’s not easy to persevere
Fighting through wind and rain
But oh, how sad, if, at the end of life’s race
We have run in vain

Janet~

I remember my dad telling us this…
It’s not by how we begin that we will be remembered…
But by how we finish!

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Tim.4:7
