When Children Pray...

Having some fun with today's PAD Challenge:
today’s prompt, take the phrase “When (blank),” replace the blank with a word or phrase, make the new phrase the title of your poem, and then write the poem.

It teaches us of simple faith
Nothing on earth compares
To this; when demons meet their death
In little children’s prayers

No doubt restrains the childish tongue
Or drives the words away
As heaven rings with angel-song
When little children pray

Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."
Mark 10:15

Better Than Pen-Poetry

Somehow the thoughts I think tonight
Mere poetry cannot corral
Release of ink inept to write
Its relief in a madrigal

The world that aches beneath my skin
Where wars of faith and fear hope, dread
Ignite a hunger-storm within
Like waves that surge and break, blood-red

Sometimes ink cannot mediate
The ways of love’s there-of and such
Nor can Poetry compensate
With offerings of type-print touch

My dear, the world at night can be
A black expanse of brooding air
A pen is maudlin company
When I am here and you are there

Prayer reaches through the dark with ease
God hears the words I cannot say
For He can translate tongue-tied pleas
Into miracles when I pray

...and suddenly, my dearest dear
You do not seem so far from me
The transport of whisper and tear
Is love's sacred soul-poetry

I will love You, O Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock
and my fortress
and my deliverer;
My God,
my strength, in whom I will trust;
My shield
and the horn of my salvation,
my stronghold.
 I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised;
So shall I be saved from my enemies.

Ps.18:1-3

We All Have Time To Pray

Because it seems I need to hear it over and over
I've listened to this message again and again!

Who can tell the future?
Who can know its way?
Who can claim hope, joy and peace
Yet never pause to pray?

We, God's beloved children
Cannot find the way
Or trust His kind guidance
If we do not pray

Prayer is like a life-line
God's heart holds the rope
And as we cry out to Him
He replies with Hope

 Janet~

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
Mark 1:35

It's not about having time,
It's about making time
and taking Time

Since Cares of Living First Began...

Since cares of living first began
God has ordained a way for man
To still commune with Him

A rod and staff to comfort us
A sacred altar where
Nothing need ever hinder us
Our heart and soul to bare

The fellowship of God to men
Is still as sure today
As in those ancient days back when
Prophets bowed down to pray

A Shoulder in the storms of life
A beacon in the dark
And in the rise and fall of strife
An infallible ark

Before we rise, before we sleep
Before we break our bread
Pray to the One who broke five loaves
Then five-thousand were fed

Oh, pray we do not forget He
Who is our strength and stay
But that with glad humility
We don’t forget to pray
