Wonders Never Cease

A glimpse of today's wonders and it's not even half-past morning yet!!

Ah, wonders never cease
Where trouble’s ways increase
Still nature’s tides release
Ripples of constant awe
As seasons overflow
The banks of Bygone’s woe
With love’s breath-taking show
(Love is the Giver’s law)

Wonder with fresh surprise
Ignites a thousand sighs
It delights our eyes
With beauty’s blessing-feast
Then lift thine drooping head
Mercy does not forget
Wonder’s buffet is spread
On north, south, west and east

Yes, wonders never cease
Midst constant chaos, peace
Where flowers, hills and trees
And innocence and such
Fill hearts with joyful praise
For life’s most common days
Never cease to amaze
Beneath the master’s touch

The woodland’s tranquil path
Winter’s green aftermath
The faithful autograph
Of sunrise-riven lease
Where Mercy is renewed
Where hope is bloom-imbued
Where grace stirs gratitude
Where wonders never cease

Psalm 40:4-5
Blessed is the man who has made the LORD his trust,
who has not turned to the proud,
nor to those who lapse into falsehood.

There's Something About Morning (Makes Us Glad)

  Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid;
‘For YAH, the LORD, is my strength and song;
He also has become my salvation.’ ”
Isa.12:2

For all the fear and trouble that nobody can escape
There’s something about morning as we see it taking shape
That makes us feel like favourites of He who grants its grace
And stirs a hymn within the heart and smile upon the face

For all the hurt and heartache that still waits to test time’s cast
There’s something about morning as it hoists its glorious mast
That makes us feel like heirs of so much more than we deserve
As God so rich in mercy showers earth with light and love

For all the ways that we could count to crumble in despair
There’s something about morning that evokes a humble prayer
Where Hope hails to the masses to trust and not be afraid
And to rejoice in this; the day that our Lord has made

There’s something about whispers escalating to hurrah
As we, the beneficiaries of Beauty gape in awe
While He who Was, IS and Will BE flings gleaming gates ajar
Where something about morning makes us glad right where we are

....glad to be (however teeny) a part of something grand
The Workmanship and worshiper of He, First in Command
That suddenly makes sacred the Dusk toward which we strive
Where something about morning makes us glad to be alive

Audrey expresses exactly how I feel about morning in this clip! 😀

Of Refreshed Footholds...

From the rising to the setting of the sun,
the name of the LORD is praised.
Psalm 113:3

Finding a refreshed foothold on fathoms of endless deep
Day draws its waking breath in golden breadths of heaven’s sweep
The eloquence of moments spills without the gift of speech
Dawn, always laden with a sheaf of new lessons to teach

Today is always new, where we, never too old to learn
Are students, educated by the hand of no return
Where one’s wisdom increases not with easy song-and-dance
But by unequivocal truth that trips our arrogance

The seasoned way of seasons seeps through skylines and through skin
It does not cater to our whims of disgruntled chagrin
But woos the way it always has where highs and lows entwine
Into a labyrinth of tear-and-laughter grafted vine

Let’s labour to be thankful to the Giver of our days
And not let longing rankle what should be a hymn of praise
From mercy-meted rising to the setting of the sun
Let’s turn want into worship for the war our Lord has won

Honour-bound!

This poem was inspired by the closing remarks in a letter we received last week...

"The grand purpose of our lives is not that we...
(and they expressed their heart's desire which for privacy I cannot share)
—it is that God would use us to reflect his glory—may He accomplish this in all of us!"

Amen!
This perfect purpose keeps us grounded
no matter who or where we are
no matter what we do.

Nature, decked in snow-glory is rousing hymns of awe and praise this morning!

No matter where we find ourselves in doing what we do
Whether it is a hard knock walk or prayers and dreams come true
Whether we gain peopled applause or labour without laud
We are created for one cause; to bring glory to God

The best and worst of ‘blessed and cursed’ does not affect the charge
One purpose binds us as all aboard time’s elemental barge
Where pray, we muster more than an obligatory nod
For ultimately we were born to bring glory to God

Then in the thick or thin of it;
The kick-caress, groan-grin of it
It helps us keep chins up a bit
If we remember this;
No matter what of loss or gain
Or flying high or cross of pain
Its albatross is not in vain
For where these are God IS

So then no matter who we are or where, or what we do
None of us are exempt from the purpose we are called to
Where in pursuit of hard-fought goals we will be mercy-awed
If we commit with heart and soul to bring glory to God

Ah, yes, his ways are higher than thought’s gaze can comprehend
And though our heart’s desire must oft learn to wait and bend
We will not languish in despair beneath love’s testing rod
If we make our wish and prayer to bring glory to God
