Hallelujah Fount (because we need its Certainty in these Uncertain Times)

This song that Victoria was listening to this morning...

and this verse  I read in my morning reading...
For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.
John 1:16 ESV or NLT version

From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another
 ...helped inspire today's poem...
because let's face it; it takes more than the piece/peace of pie to turn panic to peace!

When we begin to count
Blessings bestowed, unfurled
We feel a hallelujah-fount
Drown the fear of this world
As we begin to see
With kinder, meeker stance
The philharmonic symphony/sympathy
That mercy’s Maestro grants

Where we are not alone
To face the foe of dread
Where God is still upon His throne
Yet with us every step
Where seasons keep their pace
And grace is never swayed
In spite blessings we disgrace
And messes we have made

Where we live in moments
Of one day at a time
Where we are the recipients
Of promises divine
For no man here on earth
Can fully reassure
Without God’s Word to instill truth
Whereby we will endure

And then, as we believe
Speech becomes dumb with awe
Where we were numb now we perceive
The wonder of love’s law
And how God sees our need
Beyond the present fuss
And works ahead to intercede
On the behalf of us

His light of Righteousness
A lamp unto our feet
His hope through divine promises
To make the bitter sweet
His Beauty marred and scarred
With testaments of pride
Where love trod a road cruel and hard
And then was crucified

…to pay the debt we owed
To defeat death and hell
To prove the Sovereignty of God
With the tomb’s empty shell
Where we, unto this day
May touch those Hands engraved
With the insignia of grace
By His name we are saved

Ah! Then the blessing-fount
Thought cannot comprehend
As humbly we begin to count
His mercies without end
Where Heaven’s Finale
Is worth earth’s short travail
While we lean on His Guarantee
Of love that will not fail

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

Joy Secured

He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
Psalm 91:4

Joy, like a priceless gem
Is lost sometimes it seems
Amidst the noise and wild mayhem
Of fear and broken dreams

Is not some hapless/hopeless fling
But lends its lease of Mercy Stayed

Come to me’ He implores
Where many do not hear
The Voice that comforts and restores
The joy that calms our fear

Against truth’s enemies

Though sorrow sets a snare
And morrow none can tell
Beneath the shelter of His care
We know that all is well

Joy amidst suffering
Ah, raise your hymn of praise
Beneath love’s faithful, feathered Wing
Unfurls man’s breadth of days

Where loss cannot begin
To compete with the gain
Of we who have confessed our sin
And trust in Jesus’ name

May the God of hope fill you with all joy
and peace as you trust in him,
so that you may overflow with hope
by the power of the Holy Spirit.

As We Look Up...

Do you ever visualize, when you pray before you start your day;
as from our feeble grasp to His all-encompassing arms
we relinquish our cares, both of the known and the unknown,
do you ever visualize as we look up
God, so rich in mercy reaches down?!
Oh, how I LOVE Him!

From the barely breathed beginnings on the threshold of new day
How sweet to rest our head upon God’s shoulder as we pray
What tender comfort buoys us toward the great unknown
As we look up and sense love’s immense mercy reaching down

How sweet to picture Jesus, with hands disfigured with scars
Brushing away the tears that wash our cheeks like falling stars
And visualize, as we look up, God’s everlasting love
Is reaching down to remind us that His grace is enough

For you did not receive a spirit of slavery that returns you to fear,
but you received the Spirit of sonship, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!

For All We Face...

Often the day is well on the way before the poem is complete...
and the lines get tucked in between toast, tea and other such crumbs and spills.

Let's pray our day is never not-so-well on its way
because we didn't pray

We all need God so much whether our cares are great or small,
public or private, He cares for one and all
and in the prayer-room His peace frees us from fear's would-be shackles!
Aren't you thankful?!

Ephesians 6:18
Pray in the Spirit at all times, with every kind of prayer and petition.
To this end, stay alert with all perseverance
in your prayers for all the saints.

From yonder portal of new day
Resounds Mercy’s role call
Where true believers bow to pray
No care too great or small
To lay before our gracious God
As long as life endures
We plea for grace to trust the rod
That tests what faith secures

The brunt of consequence unkind
The fear of the unknown
The snares set for the idle mind
The heart, as hard as stone
All these would fill a bitter cup
Hope would not be restored
Save for the pleas that we lift up
To pour before the Lord

Thus by God’s grace with prayer-braced might
We face what waits to be
We walk by faith and not by sight
Where God’s love sets us free
To live without fear’s binding dread
To rise above despair
To trust Him for what lies ahead
To hear our humble prayer

Hour After Hour or To We Who Believe...

He meets us in the moment
To fit us for the task
Where hour after hour
Till time falls at His feet
He offers us His hope and love
To make our joy complete

Ah, what more could we ask for
Than confidence to trust
Where hour after hour
As through His glorious power
He makes His presence known

 Psalm 38:9
O Lord, my every desire is before You; my groaning is not hidden from You.
