Anticipating Awe!

Yesterday I read the question,
What Are You Looking Forward to...?
Isn't anticipation one of life's most fantastic joys?!
(plus, it helps to temper disappointment
and the weight of dread which inevitably at times, must be!)

I can't wait for…

The plush plip-plop of lush rain-drop
Studding green leaf with gems like glass
The soft slip-slap as bare feet dash
To splash through dust on garden paths
Where cotton clouds waft aloft, soft
Above the linen-laden line
Of trousers, shirts, towels, summer skirts
Hob-knobbing with warm, gold sunshine

The petal show of red, yellow
Purple, blue, pink and white, oh my,
God’s work of art can steal the heart
And admiration of the eye
And I can’t wait to see the gate
Embellished with jasmine run wild
And kiss the face of Queen Ann’s lace
As well as sun-bronzed summer’s child

The luxury of late day tea
While swallows dart and dip and dive
The brawny buzz of cicadas
The lazy hush (or crazy rush) of half-past five
And I can’t wait to fill my plate
With fresh-picked-from-the-garden hue
Or run my gaze across the trays
Where summer spills old thrills anew

Awed By God

Yesterday at the eye doctor I was introduced to a more in-depth look at the human eye;
...its complexity an incomprehensible miracle!
(if you are interested do your own research!)
Here are a few links...
I'm sure each sense, when explored, would fully awe!

Colossians 1:16
For in Him all things were created,
things in heaven and on earth,
visible and invisible,
whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities.
All things were created through Him and for Him.

The handiwork of He who cups
The magnitude of life and death
Stuns us where livings downs and ups
Spill to a stage that steals our breath

He shakes above earth’s hills and lakes
Blush, blue, gray heavens, ethereal
And everywhere we look He wakes
The essence of life’s miracle

The energies of wind and rain
Of sun and night and day declare
The manifestation of Him
Jehovah-God is everywhere

Human is not born atheist
Consider the eye’s grand design
…how it beholds gold, amethyst
Of bloom that bobs on breeze-strummed vine

Of trees that lob their leafy lay
Until its season-song is stripped
Where height and depth of day-to-day
Is star-frothed, cloud-clothed, flower-dipped

Beneath our feet a wonder-world
Is unfurled; viral, teeming sod
Is meadow-crowned and dew-drop pearled
Twig, petal, sprig and leaf applaud

Then pray for eyes that truly see
And ears that hear more than mere sounds
For mouths to sing the Majesty
Of He where-from all joy abounds

…and pray that we do not become
Numb to the place where posies nod
Lest, distracted by sorrow’s sum
We forget to be awed by God

Well, it's off to the garden where the beaming beet-row is begging to be thinned out a bit;-)

Renascence of Spirit

Wishing you a wonder-full day!

You have enclosed me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me.
      Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is too high, I cannot attain to it.

 Ps.139:5-6

Its archive harbors hunger
That wends its age-old way
From night to day where Wonder
Is never held at bay

The one who seeks will find it
It kindles star-straked Yon
With eons sealed behind it
It breaks dark bars with dawn

And spills its mercy-shower
Across the mist-kissed lea
And fills the bud with flower
And pilots Poetry

No one too poor to wear it
The wealth that Wonder brings
A renaissance of spirit
It gladdens common kings

And wakens in worn Being
With Hope and nothing more
A whole new way of seeing
What we have seen before

 Last evening's Update from Dave's wife Karen;
(To new-comers; I'm keeping readers updated on a journey that began here)
Hello everyone,

When I arrived at the hospital Dave said he already walked the halls this morning. A little later the physiotherapist came in again, took him for another walk and then got him to sit in his chair to have lunch. After lunch he got back into bed. Soon his parents came down for a visit. Wasn't long after his parent came he was just so tired that he had a rest while we visited for bit and then I went to the family room to put my feet up while mom and dad stayed with him until he woke up and they came and got me.
Later in the evening Josh and Krista came to pick me up.
Another good day and his pain is under control so that really helps.
Thank-you SO much for your continued prayers!

Awareness of Greatness

Awareness of Greatness far-more than mere words can descry
Surges within this cage of skin where Want and Worship vie
Our understanding babbles; vexed by what thought cannot grip
Yet one glimpse is enough to concede a Supreme Lordship

The wheel of nature’s season-reel drips, we behold with awe
What mankind cannot fluster nor usurp; a higher law
Mutes mustered explanation, save for One; as we applaud
With sacred salutation the awareness of Him; God

Time’s melody of moments spills a gossamer incline
Where we are prone to distraction as on and up we climb
Still, who but fools dares to ignore the Hand that bore, for Grace
The agony of nails pierced through, yet holds the stars in space?

Oh, God forbid we put a lid on Awareness of He
Who stokes the depths of darkness where the Light of day breaks free
And even though the tongue may boast and scorn, somewhere within
Awareness of Greatness persists; a Conqueror of sin

For who can heal body and soul, or appeal life from sod?
And who can save from Hades grave, But One; the Lord our God?
Tell me then, who among us can His magnitude perceive?
Awareness of Greatness persuades the wise man to believe

"See now that I myself am he! There is no god besides me. I put to death and I bring to life, I have wounded and I will heal, and no one can deliver out of my hand.
 Deut.32:39

"We are living in the last days" announced Matt at the supper table, "but who knows how long the 'last days' will be?"
What happened? I ask, and he explains how some of his teachers (and then, many students) scoff at the idea that anyone would still believe in a God who created heaven and earth!
Why, I wondered, do they apply themselves so vehemently to disprove Something they claim does not exist?!Could it be A Greater Awareness?

Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 2 Pet.3:3

39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.

40 For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever.
41 If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me.
42 I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy.
43 Rejoice, O ye nations, with his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his people.
