String of Pearls...

Time's pearls hold the colors of the rainbow and every tint between...
 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
    for his compassions never fail. 
 They are new every morning;
    great is your faithfulness.

The roof of stars lowers its bars
Heaven pours gold across glossed clay
Where freeways start to fill with cars
As dot-to-dot of day-to-day

…adds face to what seems commonplace
If we forget to recognize
The Author of uncommon grace
That sweeps the darkness from the skies

…with mercy’s flood misunderstood
If we neglect to simply trust
The Hand that works for our good
No matter what vexes this dust

He fills the grail that spills time’s trail
In dot-do-dot of day-to-day
With His kind love that does not fail
No gem has ever lost its way

 Who knew a bowl of burgundy beets beaming in the bright morning sun
 could make one mildly delirious with delight
...but it did!

  1. I am mildly delirious about your poetry, Janet. It's a lovely 'daily fix'. I was picking cucumbers and packaging bunches of herbs for friends this morning. One lady, I don't know well, but share in her heartache - lost a baby at almost 5 months gestation - so very sad. One young fellow watered and kept my garden alive while we were away for a few days. Somebody else is in need of encouragement because of a separation. There is just something good about God's natural beauty and provision that makes me want to show and share. And tell them there is always hope and gratitude in some of the simplest things. Your photos are delciously delightful my friend.
