The Wonderful Wonder of Is

Pondering the word IS as I sweep, scrub, polish because it IS a lovely spring day for cleaning or whatever else one IS inclined to enjoy:)

Is lives twixt Was and Will
It does not let us see
Over the morrow’s garden-wall
But exists present-ly

Is does not reimburse
Yesterday once again
But always spills its moment-purse
With fresh-spun ilk to spend

Is, is all that we have
But oh, IS, is enough
For we live in the blessedness
Of this 'IS'; God IS love

…not, God was love or God will be love but God is love!

Not, the Lord will be near, or was near but …The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.  Ps.145:18

The LORD is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Ps.34:18

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Ps.46:1

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. Ps.23:1

The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. Ps.28:7

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." 2 Cor.12:9

The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. Ps.121:5

God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you. 2 Thess. 1:6

The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.  Ps.18:2

I am the LORD, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God. Isa. 45:5
