Thank-you Card

Light cleaves to air where just a while ago
Midnight clung to each ridge in boundless black
Dawn breathes its glory o’er time’s testing track
Grace scrawls deliverance in burnished gold

Creature complaint though common unto man
Falls mute beneath this ether evidence
Of God extending patient providence
Above this marred and sullied sorrow-span

…for morning is each longest night’s reward
Mercy does not withhold the hope of dawn
God holds love’s beacon as we journey on
And all that we can say is thank-you, Lord

  1. Ahhhh... my heart is fed with the beauty of your poetry... this piece specifically... and that lovely photo that wakens the dawn.

    Loverly!

  2. Soft snowflakes fell in coral glitter through the path of rising sun...it was so beautiful...and slightly to the left of the sun was a vivid sun-dog, and 'thank-you God'! filled my heart.

Thank-you for pausing on my porch today. (and no, I have not forgotten;)
