Grand Gate

Each new Today unchains grand gates
Twixt what is spent and what yet waits
The best we have is what we hold
Futile to crave yesterday’s gold

Our pilgrimage from Here to There
Strews echo-petals to the air
The flower in full bloom today
Is that which Morrow blows away

The winds of change waft soft and surge
Its Hunger bent on dream and dirge
Where moments merge and soon become
The Gate to where we started from
