Blessed Are We...When

Morning Prayer;
Dear Lord create in us
a holy, awesome dissatisfaction
when we settle for less
Anoint hope's howling hunger
with heaven's hidden attraction
through Your righteousness
Amen

Psalm 32:1
Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,
Whose sin is covered.

Jer.17:7
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,
And whose hope is the LORD.

Psalm 112:1
Blessed is the man who fears the LORD,
Who delights greatly in His commandments.

Psalm 1:1
Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

James 1:12
Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved,
he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

Psalm 33:12
Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD,
The people He has chosen as His own inheritance.

Matt. 5:1-12
And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain:
and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,

3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you,
and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven:
for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

It's an eye-opener isn't it?!
The conditions hinged to God's promised blessings
so then,
Lord, when we pray for blessing
Make us humbly aware
Of sin that needs confessing
Thy blessing to prepare...

The way of life is riddled with both triumph and defeat
The hope to which we cling is like a lifeline, bittersweet
Our darlings of desire and God’s will often conflict
Because we want His blessing without what hinges to it

The altar that pleases our Lord is not fashioned of stone
But is the heart that offers up its cup of skin and bone
In gratitude to He whose mercy paid sin’s awful debt
And sacrificed His Son to be the scapegoat in our stead

He suffered all we ever will, of poverty and pain
But with his eyes fixed on the Prize He suffered, not in vain
Because obedience beholds more than the sacrifice
Love suffers long and it is kind and sees beyond the price

Some blessings are not hard to see, they burst and beam and brim
Some come, disguised as ‘why’ to test who will still honour Him
Lord, remind us, when we ask for your Providence to bless

He who did not spare His own Son,
but delivered Him up for us all,
how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
Romans 8:32
