No Use Pretending...Summer Is Ending

With the cool, wet weather we’ve been ‘enjoying’ it comes as no surprise…summer is ending!

The weather-page simply reminded us in case we are missing it;-)
Please be safe, dear Floridians!

This week's rainstorms offered up some most unusual backdrop colors...

Summer is ending
No use in pretending
What once was tender and green is still so
August arrangements
Morph into estrangements
Darling, rich tress dons suggestions of snow

Pray, the Lord willing
With fall colors spilling
We will surrender summer’s lusty strains
Futile to tarry
And mourn moments merry
Darling, let’s make the most of what remains

Caramel glimmers
And tangerine shimmers
Flare on stares startled by bearings bereft
Of days much younger
And sunny and stronger
Darling, who knows where time goes; what is left?

Look in the mirror
Ah, truth is much clearer
When it confronts what was youth, face to face
Summer is ending
No use in pretending
It is July in September’s embrace

Darling, the hours
That filled and spilled flowers
Fades from the forefront; fall’s air wears blue-gray
Darling, each season
Is rife with kind reason
Let’s make the most of what soon slips away

so true, this quote from Charles Dickens...
"Nature gives to every time and season some beauties of its own;
and from morning to night as from the cradle to the grave
it is but a succession of changes so gentle and easy
that we can scarcely mark their progress."

Enjoying the joys of 'early autumn' such as Grandson:)
now 8 mos. old!
