Sometimes In The Looking Up

PAD Challenge day 13: For today’s prompt, write a confession poem.

Sometimes I forget
and the waking morning wears
the weight of worry and regret
instead of prayer

Sometimes I forget
how to love and trust
staggering beneath the yoke
of must-drenched dust

Sometimes I forget
while You fill up the sky
with the hem of heaven's glory
and glimpsed Majesty

But then, in the looking up
My heart storm is subdued
As I confess my wanting-ness
Hope is renewed

 Janet Martin~

"But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you. Ps. 39:7

I wait for the LORD, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. Ps.130:5

Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Ps.62:5

    1. thank-you...it is one of those morning's where I felt body-slammed with life's weight of worry and care the moment I opened my eyes...the tug-of-war continues, 'but in his word I put my hope'...

  2. That third stanza possesses some majesty of its own. The juxtaposition between the creature and the almost casual power of the Creator is wonderful.

Sometimes I forget too. Perhaps I should write that stanza on a post-it and put it on the alarm clock beside my bed. Reminds me of Job 26:14 - "Behold these are the fringes of His ways; and how faint a word we hear of Him! But His mighty thunder, who can understand?

I have a poem I would like to send you, but I don't know the protocol. It is the lyrics to "Lord of All" by First Call.

    1. ...that's exactly like it happened! I decided to walk outside and look up and just hit re-start, and there was God, filling up the sky, not with worry but 'the fringe of Him' spilling I AM all around me!

I would love the words to that poem/song,
You may send me the link to it, or e-mail me a; t janetruth.martin85@gmail.com

Thank-you for your second-mile understanding and care.
