Standing Here Watching the Dark Disappear...

Standing here watching the dark disappear roused a thunder of wonder in me…

Torn twixt dread and delight, I stand twixt day and night
The Unknown rides a sacred tide of ever-forward flight
As blush of breaking day rouses the come-what-may
Of slip and stumble, fear’s faith-fumbling ever-forward way

The holiness of hope is more than grab and cope
Its soul-borne quest where want-waves wrest tackles time’s leaning slope
The Light overwhelms the dark and God propels his Ark
With open door toward a shore where morning meets its Mark

Heaven and earth collide where Morning meets His Bride
Dread and delight fuel the fight toward this Great Divide
This ever-forward Flight is more than morn to night
Though eons roll time’s Certain Goal commands our utmost, right?

And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Matthew 25:6
