Flower-Power
And why are ye anxious concerning raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
But if God doth so clothe the grass of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Matthew 6:28-30
He who denies
God and His awesome power
Has never fully beheld
The heart of a flower
Pink, gold or purple
Magenta or white
All are precious
In His sight
He who desires
To see God's wondrous power
Needs simply to ponder
The art of a flower

Thank-you Megan, for bringing color into a very bleary, dreary gray day:)
Thank-you Nantucket Daffodil for a splash of spring-dreaming! Love that galvanized planter.
Thank-you Kateri, for sharing your beautiful blooms~
I went searching through your poetry for a flower quote this morning... that was before you posted this poem :) Your quote is *perfect* by the way!! It's quite a rainy overcast day here... hope there's a little sun shining where you are (at least your beautiful flower photos are bringing me a dose of spring & summer sun!) Hugs ~ Megan
ReplyDeleteYour tags were the inspiration today:)When we take pictures we can enjoy the beauty of summer all year!
ReplyDeleteI was first going to try 'children and flowers' but it turned out like this. Sometimes a poem has a mind of its own!:)
Happy flower-dreaming~
It's amazing to me how quickly and beautifully you write!! When you said "sometimes a poem has a mind of its own" I thought... oh, I can think of so many times when I was certain these 2 or 3 images would mesh well together, and they didn't... you just go with the flow and something eventually "fits" :)
ReplyDeleteNow that was a walk through summer! Just beautiful. Thanks for sharing my post as well. :)
ReplyDeleteMegan, it really is the excitement of the art, isn't it? I hope you get your own card and stationary line someday:)
ReplyDeleteKateri, thank-you for your visit and for sharing your gorgeous photos with the world.
