I must space each little sigh
Lest it becomes a drawn-out cry
The hinting of perpetual tears
Weeping far across the years
I must quell the sudden urge
Restrain the unabashed surge
To drown within a silent thought
Bleeding from the wound it wrought
I must resist the solitude
Of darkened oceans, vast, subdued
And I must space each little sigh
In unspoken soliloquy

The image is fabulous, as are your words…. I was thinking escape, until my second reading of this.
