Of Muted Musicale...

A riot of full color
Falls quiet in the woods
Beneath the dwindling arbor
Of autumnal postludes

…as layer over layer
Leaf-lyrics lie, subdued
A prelude to the Player
Of Winter’s Interlude

Of Molded Strings

We sense it…
Long before the rifts
As
Love bends us
With lended gifts
While
Ordinary Disappears
Into a Blur
Of yester-years
Where
oft the kiss
Of This soft-rends
Beginnings through
With subtle ends
So
even while
We sense the tug
We smile and sing
And laugh and hug
For
 what good is
The hands that clings
To ribbons made of
Yester-things
And
what good is
The Cup we hold
If we are pining
For its mold

Some Times...

Sometimes '... I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me.
 For in my inner being I delight in God’s law;
but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind
and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me.
What a wretched man I am!
Rom.7:21-24
Yep, sometimes this passage just reaches out and slaps me in the face when I sure do deserve it!
But then it goes on to ask,
'Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death?
25 Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!'
"Hallelujah!"
Nature's Artist is always looking to work wonders in our very human nature...it we let him!

Oh, it may seem, sometimes like God forgets or doesn’t hear
The ‘answer’ to a prayer, thin air and disappointment’s tear
Sometimes it feels like Mercy deals a blow where High Hope streamed
And teaches us humility in ways we never dreamed

Sometimes the demons we thought licked, return in sleek disguise
To tell us we were tricked into believing crafty lies
Then we flee to God’s Living Word to thwart the swords Doubt hurled
Greater is He within us than he that is in the world

Oh, it may seem, sometimes, that we fail far more than succeed
But our full-of-compassion-God is long-suff’ring indeed
He does not give what we deserve, though sometimes we complain
Redemption reaches down to lift us up to try again

Sometimes Faith’s Firm fidelity demands what seems unjust
A left-foot-right-foot march toward Hope’s Hierarchy of trust
While we rely on what we know, not on what we can see
And lean upon God’s promise of ‘grace sufficient for Thee’

Sometimes Goodness and Mercy wears a vexatious facade
The Moment more dominant than the endlessness of God
Then sometimes, as we wait upon the One who does not cease
He fills the emptiness of want with surrender, then peace

Darkest Hour Poem

PAD Challenge day 2: For today’s prompt, write a darkest hour poem.

Before the breath that breaks the bud
That births the beaming bloom
Before the wisp that wakes the word
That imprints page with poem
Before the art that stirs the heart
To worship’s humble laud
Before the Light rends doubt’s dark night
And leads Blind Faith to God

Glorious Thought

Writer's Digest's Poem-a-day Challenge 1; For today’s prompt, write a glorious poem.

The tide that trouble rides upon seems never to deplete
And life, though it runs rife with joy, is never Easy Street
But oh, the woe we know is never greater; glorious thought
Than God’s kind grace to human race for all His ways allot

The bread we break and often take for-granted as we chew
While mouths are filled with food, our minds are filled with Much Ado
Until a nudge reminds us to remember; glorious thought
His grace will be sufficient when our ways and means are not

Our Hope is Fixed upon the Rock; not gods of wood and stone
The prayers we pray are heard even when words evade our groan
And though fear tries to veer faith’s eyes from trust, oh, glorious thought
We have His confidence in us; the loving grace of God

 Psalm 62:2
He alone is my rock and my salvation;
He is my fortress, I will never be shaken.

2 Samuel 22:47
The LORD lives, and blessed be my Rock!
And may God, the rock of my salvation, be exalted--
