Bravely Facing Forward

So much we never mention
So much we never say
But turn our faces to the grace
Of what remains; today

Futile to battle vainly
What we can never rule
Time is a staid tick-tock, tick-tock
And life its little school

Experience shapes wonder
Lest, God forbid, we’re blind
To beauty’s fullness; consummate
Of heart and soul and mind

Years forge far more than history
Pray we do not disdain
The Hand that renders for our good
What cannot be again

The power of a moment
Can steal one’s breath away
We turn our faces forward to
Embrace its grace; today

women's wisdom-words inspire
another to keep on keeping on.
Love is a wow-some labyrinth
of invisible stepping-stones
laid down by those who've been there,
sharing what they've come to know
taking their place in the current of
life's ever-forward flow

March Mirrors

March has the happiest mirrors
That ever earth did know
As mirth of rain-sun-chuckles fill
Each dip with melted snow

Now it seems Nature is smiling
No matter where we look
Each hollow is a cheval-glass
Each crevice is a brook

Each indent is a garden-pond
And every tarn and stream
Where white relents is like a trance
A-rife with summer’s dream

That cold and brooding afternoon
Is singing where the snow
Fills frames shaping the gladdest mirr
-ors ever earth did know

We're not seeing any today, but on the week-end the sun warmed the roads enough to create...puddles! We have not seen puddles since December's long gray one!

Rhyme-Time!

In March Phoenix Rising is going to explore the Reason for Rhyme...hurray!!;-)

Sometimes rhyme can distract and lull
The reader from experiencing a poem in full
I’m sometimes a rhymer when I’d rather be
Free-spirited, free verse, conformity-free
But something within seems to grin and say
Come here, my darling and rhyme, rhyme away

Nobody's Loss...But

If we choose never to study God’s word
Never to think on Him, never to pray
Never to consider what will happen
When we come to the ending of life’s way

…if we choose never to seek or know Him
Never to wonder at His wondrous love
Never to meditate on Mercy’s Fullness
Choosing instead our own dullness to prove

If we never marvel as we stroll earth’s garden
Or pause to ponder as we smell its flowers
On what a great God offers hope and pardon
It will be nobody’s loss…but ours

and as a reader reminded me...nobody's loss but ours and God's. Did you know God desires(He does not need) but He desires a relationship with each one of us!

... For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
Phil.2:13
For I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice, the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.
Hosea 6:6

Happy March:-)
Wishing you a wonder-full Worship Day !
